I'm confused at most of these though as I thought that the college educated people were the ones that supported Hillary and trump got all the poor people in the rust belt and poor states that want to make 60k by driving rivets into metal all day again or whatever. Wasn't Trump the one that got the disenfranchised hayseed poor vote?

Hillary really didn't carry the college educated vote like most expected. She barely even got more than half of college educated women I think.

in a non-shocking turn of events on this board, I'm right and some random dumbass is wrong.

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/11/09/behind-trumps-victory-divisions-by-race-gender-education/

In the 2016 election, a wide gap in presidential preferences emerged between those with and without a college degree. College graduates backed Clinton by a 9-point margin (52%-43%), while those without a college degree backed Trump 52%-44%. This is by far the widest gap in support among college graduates and non-college graduates in exit polls dating back to 1980.

Aside from being wrong, he completely missed the point

hopefully trump will save these poors like they think he will and get them good jobs that they haven't been able to earn themselves. I mean they are white and live in the united states, so lord knows they deserve it.

I'm talking about expectations. Hillary was expected to carry all segments of the college educated vote. She did not win among white men and women with college degrees like many were predicting.

From the same article:

Quote
Trump won whites with a college degree 49% to 45%. In 2012, Romney won college whites by a somewhat wider margin in 2012 (56%-42%). Trump’s advantage among this group is the same as John McCain’s margin in 2008 (51%-47%).

if you're point is that even college educated white people with marketable skills can be racists and bigots then I agree.

to the somewhat obvious point that I was making, poor uneducated people with no skills and no training put trump in office. hopefully he'll be able get them those 35/hour widget factory jobs they need to be happy/content.

To think it wasn't the unemployed and uneducated demographic who put Trump in office is to absolutely have ignored his campaign

Hillary got Trump elected, not some poor coal farmer in the rust belt.  Any decent democratic candidate would have won easily.

You realize you're acting like a bigot, right? Or is this something you copied off FB for everyone to laugh at?

All poor non-college people are unskilled? All college people are skilled? You realize you can get a highly skilled job without college, and can get (pay for) a college degree in hundreds of skilless areas of study (trivia, more or less), like literature, anthropology, popular culture, and pretty much all social and human "sciences" etc.

From what I've seen and heard (and to _33's point), the biggest reason Hillary lost is because she couldn't get a lot of the Democratic base to turn out and vote.
