Yeah, half of those turnovers weren't his fault because the rest of the team sucked and frank was playing him out of position.

It's so hard to argue with steve dave. Waters is not a Spradling equivalent, but how can anyone truly hold that stance after a post like this.

sd says as much stupid crap as anyone.  develop the courage to challenge him (directly, not this passive aggressive crap).

sams is def more lovable.  tapping that male cheerleader on the shoulder

When was this?

pretty sure one of his 2nd half runs. sams ran out of bounds, almost ran into a cheerleader but stopped just in time right in front of the cheerleader, patted him on the shoulder. cheerleader grinned and sams ran off.

Found it.  9:50 left in the game.

sounds right.  is there a youtube replay yet?  I forgot to dvr  :frown:

I like how much better Hubes is when Sams is in the game.

I'm not really arguing that he is a Spradling equivalent fwiw. I'm mostly arguing that the apologists of him are hilariously similar to the apologists of Spradling.

Waters is at a disadvantage to Sams...   Reply
This team and offense is built around a run first QB. When Waters is in the game, his strength of throwing the ball around the field is new to this squad. Additionally, he is being asked to run the ball as well.
Sams comes in and his great ability already plays to the team's strength and experience. And he is not asked to throw hardly at all.

Jake is a great QB, but he's at a disadvantage, which makes his play thus far impressive.

SD is right tho, every Waters INT gets dismissed as someone else's fault, Miller's shouldn't really count, but our run game is pretty much dead with him in the game, and completely sparked with Sams in, and Bill has ran a run based O more successfully than pass, so...

TeamHubert certainly does.
Hubert would benefit from Sams starting....Everyone was focused on Klein running the ball last year so when Hubert got it, holes were open.....Synder is trying to scheme himself

I thought Waters and Sams played pretty well tonight, maybe I'm some kind of dumbass  :dunno: The offense can't make our defense suck less, guys.

The hell it can't. This is the last thing I expect a kstate fan to say. Were you in a coma the previous 2 seasons?

No, the offense can't make the defense less shitty. It can help negate the impact of their shittiness, but it can't change our talent level.

Um, okay.

Unnecessary splitting of hairs. The bottom line is that an effective offense takes pressure off of a good or bad defense. If you don't like the previous two seasons as an example check out how many snaps the defense took in either of the first 2 quarters and then compare to the number of snaps in the 3 quarter and the result of that.

I hear what you're saying. I just don't think there could be any kind of TOP advantage that we could have that would cover this defense's flaws. The last two years we had pretty decent defenses, but didn't have a lot of depth, so keeping them fresh was a definite advantage. This year I don't see much difference between our 1s and 2s except at just a couple of positions on defense, so I don't think controlling the clock will be nearly as much as an advantage as it was the past two years. It would still be an advantage, provided that we can control the clock and end those drives in scores. Therein lies the issue, we need to play the QB who can put points on the board over the QB that can control the clock. Maybe they are the same guy, maybe they're not, and without seeing Sams pass more, I'm still not sure that we know who that is.

I'm sick of this Waters crap.  I mean its cute he can pass and he looks good in the uniform and all but play the the effing guy who is prototypical to our offense and who is a dynamic profilic runner.

Start him, challenge him, and let him learn.

Do it now Snyder.  DO IT rough ridin' NOW!!!

They're both going to play.

Just shut the effing thread down now because that's how it's going to be.

Yeah, and Waters likely gets more of the snaps. I do want to see something with both on the field and I think we will.

I really agree. I wrote a couple weeks ago that if Sams plays as well this year as he did in limited opportunities last year that he would overtake Waters.
Well, he has and he will.

I think this whole scheme is to get Sams to be grateful and humble as he starts when we play UT.  It's all about mind control at K-State.

There really isn't even an argument that makes sense for Waters over Sams at this point. I mean, the whole durability thing might be an issue, but there really isn't much difference between standing on the sideline hurt and standing on the sideline so you don't get hurt. Bill isn't blind. Maybe he just wants to limit Sams' exposure to injury before conference play. :dunno:
