At the beginning I couldn't see any way that he didn't know about it, but the tweet records from @justinrmegahan have flipped me. The interesting part will be piecing together how much he embellished things for attention and how much coverup was happening during the last month.

Well, when I was in the band we drank and sent pictures back and forth of dongs and hoots and stuff.
So, how big does this story get? It's only January, is this the biggest "sports related" story of 2013?I think this one is going to get pounded into the ground like nothing else we've seen recently.

ESPN 30 for 30No Dame
hindsight being 20/20 it was kind of unusual for ESPN or NBC to not trot out the dead girl's parents and/or friends to talk about how great of a guy Te'o was and how he helped her during her battle with cancer.
http://ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski, who voiced a five-minute video feature on Te'o's tragic losses, says he was unable to find Lennay Kekua's obituary or documentation of her car accident. He didn't follow up, though, because the Notre Dame player "said the family would prefer not to be contacted" and "at that moment, you simply think that you have to respect those wishes."
