Met another guy last night who swore up and down Chad may asked him the lame $1million arm question.  that story is the worst (I don't doubt he said it at some point).  It shows our fans weren't ready to have potential NFL players on campus.
That guy is full of crap, May used it as a pick up line on the ladies not as way to brag to other dudes

Not True. I was a batcat 92-95. He said it to me in the weight room.

sb and sb younger bro grew up about a mile north of the stadium and as kids we used to ride bikes to batcat games. Sometimes instead of paying to go in we would just ride up behind the centerfield fence, technically outside of the stadium, and climb up on this weird temporary scaffolding thing that was out there. (I assume it was for the one time a year when Prime Sports Network televised a game? :dunno: ) Anyway we would, like, bring snacks and just hang out as bros up there on that scaffolding watching the non-alcoholic cats and chatting up Eric between innings. We called him "E". It was how we knew we were super cool stud kids who totally had an 'in' with bigtime K-State athletes. Totally bragged about it to friends at school all the time and other playground puds were jealous.

i did walk back into the football locker room during KU week and was reading the "bulletin board" Snyder caught me in there. He politely asked me to not go back there anymore and not to repeat what i read to anyone. He was intimidating but in a respectful sort of way.

yes, confirmed

really want to know this

He gave Snyds his word you guys!  :shakesfist:

Cone of Silence!!!

I'm sure the "bulletin board" is quite different today than what it was then. Without social media it consisted of different highlighted articles, quotes, notes from coaches, and editorials. However, I do recall there being notes from players on there about what they heard KU players saying, but i dont recall specifics about anything written. Seemed like a big deal back then but a little underwhelming by todays standards im sure.

I am sure there was something about "grapes" on there.

Hey, guys, I've been lurking a bit and decided to share a little story.  It's not from the 90s, but it's a slightly humorous story about Coach Snyder.

In the locker room after a meeting one day Courtney Herndon was talking about Coach Snyder and called him Bill. Coach Snyder happened to walk up right behind him as he was saying it, and asked in a very stern Coach Snyder voice "which direction do you want to run, Courtney?" Courtney was all :horrorsurprise: and asked him what he meant. Snyder told him to put his workout clothes on and meet him outside. We were all :whistle1: trying to not be guilty by association and have to run as well.

Fun fact, that near-exact thing happened to Adrian Hilburn during our pre-season photo day.

Moral of the story, don't call Coach Snyder "Bill", guys. :billdance:

There isn't a blog out there that has more former players than this one, and I appreciate that

Long time reader, first time commenter.  I don't know if you guys have addressed this before, but did the coaches who were leaving for Oklahoma sabotage the 1998 Big 12 Championship Game?  I've always had that feeling, but had no way to confirm.

great story, nitrocat. one time, courtney herndon appeared at a party at my apartment and we switched sunglasses, so I am quite partial to courtney herndon anecdotes. also moses manu peed on my roommate's car.
