I thought the intro was the best part of the show.  Walt's non-stop car parade is funny to me.

That said, I think I'm coming around a bit more to the Skylar stuff, I just think if you watch the episodes in sequence they would be completely bizarre because they cover such completely different subjects without almost any overlap.  I mean we barely saw Jesse/Mike this episode.  That is weird.  The continuity of the plots is what bothers me the most along with the fact that this thread is just dumb.  Skylar's equivocating and complete lack of any backbone is tiring.  Its like: "look.  lady.  You are a terrible mother.  It is way too late."  Get out of the show already.

And not a peep out of you about the completely dropped Jesse/girlfriend kid thing?  You are basically Jesse's biggest fan!  WHY NOT OUTRAGE???

1. I think Skylar was lying the whole time she was saying she was a coward and had no plan. I think right before that (you can see it in her eyes/acting, go back and watch it) she thinks of the plan to kill Walt. I thought that before the end of the episode, when you hear the gun click, which I can only assume is her standing over Walt with a rough ridin' GUN ABOUT TO KILL HIS ASS. Obviously that won't happen, but I really think that is her plan.

2. I think something else is up with Jesse. I doubt he broke up with her. They wouldn't leave a very important/emotional scene out if it wasn't for a reason.

3. I didn't NOT like the plot of the intro, just the directing. It was written very well, and the story it communicated was very important.

I kind of just got the sense that they let Chrysler direct the intro.

to me it was a trip inside the ego of walt with walt jr. along for the ride.  pretty great.  sorry you preferred skylar's pity party for herself.

After the birthday theme in this episode I went back and watched the opening scene from the first episode of the season.

 :sdeek:

Cancer comes back, Walt in a gun battle vs. DEA?
Hank is on to the crazy bitch, and Mike not getting to kill her is going to blow open the case.

I was thinking to the opening season scene as well. Obviously he has left his family behind if he changed his name and what not. Was it solely to escape the DEA? Or Skyler as well? Mike would find him, so is he dead, or on his side? Or is he the one that he's buying the gun for?

Also, really enjoyed this quote:

"Villains are never in short supply on Breaking Bad. What’s missing — and what’s left a gaping, uncomfortable hole — is the hero."

the watch gun male genitals is on there, but the actual relevance of that sound effect to the direct action was zilch.  it just means walt is a ticking time bomb and things are getting more intense.

Man, re-listening to Whitlock being all butt hurt about Breaking Bad after Season 4 on his podcast with Bob Wojnakowski.  I don't feel like he does, but he does bring up some very good points about some plot holes.

Whitlock's sole interest when it comes to good shows is trying to cut them down so he can still go on about how great The Wire is.  I haven't watched The Wire yet, and I think Whitlock is one of biggest reasons for that.

So does anyone speak German / know where to find a translation for the German language scenes this season?

Could be just gibberish, but I dunno.

Also, Walt Jr. got his breakfast this week

I found out that the gun click is not actually happening, just a sound clip. Very sad.

I'm pretty sure Walt's family is going to leave him/going to die/Walt's going to kill them (or just Skyler) in the next 4 episodes.

I don't listen to podcasts.

Also wanted to go back and say I love that you were trolled by Whitlock. Made me think of you as a pigaggie and Whitlock was pissclams.

No.  without Skylar&fam, there is no conflict/struggle in Walt's life, hence no story.  We all know what Walt's going to do.  The compelling storylines at this point are (1) Jessie; (2) Skylar; (3) Hank.  And they all come back to Walt, necessarily.

Jessie.  At some point, he's going to find out that Walt could have saved his girlfriend and didn't, poisoned Brock, and has just played Jessie like a puppet for his own self-gain.
Skylar.  she's going to do anything to protect the kids from Walt, but she knows she can't go to law enforcement or she'll go to prison herself.  she's running out of options.  will get interesting.
Hank.  The showdown between Hank and Walt is going to be epic.  Wouldn't be surprised to see Walt's name appear on Hank's bulletinboard relatively soon, and Hank begins investigating him behind the scenes without the knowledge of anybody in the family, including Walt.  Maybe Jessie enacts his revenge against Walt by acting as an informant for for Hank?

gonna get good.

every part of this season has been so tense... I feel like something crazy could happen at any second, and it usually does.  I don't even have guesses of what's gonna happen

I explained this to 8man right after it happened. Last 5 minutes of the show were as intense/more intense than Boxcutter, no?
