Petrino

jfc, would take.

His name comes up daily here in Knoxville as a potential replacement for Dooley.  He's gonna get hired again, might as well be us.
Koppe is a giant idiot bad person for sure but he's nowhere close to as big of an idiot bad person as others. To my knowledge Koppe has never bought an adult trike or talked to a dog whisperer.

Petrino would be pretty great.

This thread is just setting us all up for extreme disappointment, btw.

Bill isn't leaving until Tate is done playing here.

That being said, Currie's resume would look pretty piss poor if he hired Dimel.

Herbstreit

If Herbie said he were interested, Currie would call an emergency presser and announce Zook within 45 minutes

Yep

It will look more piss poor when worse potential hires from outside the program keep telling him no. Then again, Currie isn't a logical man.

Was it not reported that Tate suffered a career threatening injury?

we can all do the same if we stick to his one meal a day super diet consisting of 1/4 cup birdseed. (you get 3 cheat days a month where you may consume 1 chocolate chip cookie if it is a gift.)

People keep bringing this talking point up like it matters, but it really doesn't matter how many times we get told no. It's not like Dimel will refuse the job if we get told no too many times. At the end of the day, nobody remembers how many times you get told no. If I were conducting the search and the first guy I asked said yes, I would think that I didn't aim high enough.

I know that our odds increase when we target coaches who have just been fired.

I think you missed the part where I said "worse potential hires". I'm fine with getting told "no" until Dimel is our best option. My point is that Currie is so set on bringing in an outside hire that he'll keep asking even if Dimel ends up being a much better option than the person he brings in.

doesn't matter.  if someone is fired and still wouldn't take the job under any circumstances our odds are zero.  when you bring up a name ask yourself this (or ask me because I will be able to answer it correctly/immediatley without even thinking about it):

would he take the job if offered? nope.  <---- well, there you have it.

ok I will consider replacing exclamation marks with question marks going forward.

Dana Dimel is boring for a daydream and makes me sad though.

Remember when Tony Dungy said on Football Night in America that Raheem Morris left KSU as the DC to become a position coach in the NFL it was because while he was at KSU he didn't think he'd get a shot as a HC in the college ranks because he was a minority?  Raheem Morris isn't coming back to KSU.

This made me feel like raheem COULD come back! Is John Currie a likely racist? If so, I see that as the only barrier.
