also, at some point in time i am going to read every account possible of the hiring and put together some kind of timeline, because this article says that currie flew to chicago on wednesday to interview him but i swore currie said he went to a dallas hotel room and didn't meet with weber until later.

Can you put it in video form and set it to the music from "Unsolved Mysteries"?

Weber has or is negotiating with Jerrance Howard to join the staff.

In other news: Weber still has the fire.

If you love the cats, manhattan, or would not like to get angry anymore I would advise you to NOT read this

god that was a painful read. webers wife said "where the hell is that?" in reference to manhattan and weber took the kstate job because he loves challenges. jesus christ.

After our press conference the other day, I left town later that afternoon.  First I met with our student-athletes.&nb sp; I might with a couple members of our existing staff.  Then I got on a plane and went to Dallas.  Really what I needed to do at that point after so many things transpiring in the 48 hours previous to that, was be in a position in a hotel room, by myself with a telephone, with a lot of research and charts and stuff, try to focus on the process and the steps we had taken in the process.  Late Friday night, we made the decision that we had the opportunity to visit with Coach Weber.  I flew on Wednesday and got to Chicago then met with Coach Weber that afternoon.  I made a lot more phone calls and all of that kind of stuff.  Then on Thursday I went to New Orleans and spent the last couple of days there and visited with a number of different candidates.

Townie journalists just love the crap out of this guy!

he's a "coach", rusty.  what's not to love?  i was disappointed that the writer didn't ask oscar about any specific inbounds plays.

Johnny Wichita wants to know, are you talking 50/50 likely or more 70/30 likely?  Either way, will take.  Weird that he'd go on vacation in such perilous times.

what a weird way to conduct a coaching search. guess all the mhk hotel room were booked tuesday night. he should've checked junction city. also, what's up with the late friday night stuff? friday night before frank took the job? pretty crappy for oscar to be talking to another school about their head coaching position when it didn't even have a vacancy. also, pretty crappy to lie about it. or currie was lying about friday. guess we'll never know...

“Besides Coach Keady trying to get me the job last Sunday, I got a couple of calls starting on Tuesday morning, which were some feelers just trying to get a feeling.  Then I got a call from Todd Turner and asked if I could scramble and meet with John.  I said I will doing anything possible to get there and then it has been crazy since then.  I had two good long meetings and got to know him and I think he got to know me.  Last night, I got a call that said we would like for you to become the coach at K-State, come on over to the hotel and we are getting on a plane.  It has been a crazy whirlwind, and I have to take a deep breath here, but right now we have a lot to get things done.”

He kind of messed up the timeline a lot in the press conference. Why do you care about this and all the other lying? Not sure what the big deal is.

I bet it was Sisyphus asserting that he wasn't interested that caused all the travel plans to go awry.

I don’t have a problem with him going to dallas.  I actually think that it’s a smart way to stay under the radar, so to speak.  You can be in a hotel room and have coaches fly in or if you need to get on planes and no one is going to recognize you, nor would someone think twice about why a coach is in dallas, necessarily.  If I was doing it, that’s what I’d do.  However, where John and I differ is that when I’m looking a coach’s “chart” (regardless of whether I'm in Dallas or Manhattan) and it looks like the stock market crash of in the late 20’s, I wouldn’t want that coach to be my head basketball coach.

While it may or may not be true, I think it's fair to say that pretty much every single one of us is more plugged in than D. Scott.

It was a vague tweet. It didn't say "he's going to Depaul", it said "look for him to end up there". I still like our chances. He just needs to figure out that contract crap.
