Jerrance Howard: Who will win this recruiting battle?

From Illini Insider:

"Well, the last Illini tie has been severed. Good luck to all ..."

"Jerrance Howard will one way or another end up being an assistant in Kansas!"

Billy Donovan ftw.

Sorry Mr Bread, but Illini Insider says it's two horse race between Kansas schools!

I don't know about Jerrance, but I am pretty sure you will end up with Jay Price.   Not a great consolation prize by any means.

The real question is, would Jerrance Howard prefer driving an ice cream truck around (recruiting to KU) or working the sunrise to sundown construction job where the task of building is never finished (recruiting to KSU).

I hope he comes to Kansas State but a lot of it depends on how hard he's willing to work at his next job.

He isn't going to KU.  Their only staff opening is the DOBO and he can't recruit as the DOBO.

Don't count out Self.  The DOBO may still be more appealing than the sunrise to sundown construction job.

Well, the guy might be looking to add another dimension to his resume rather than just "salesman". I'd say the DOBO position at KU would fit that criteria pretty well.

He can give him all he wants, but it won't change the fact that it would be horrible for his career to become a DOBO at this point.  Even though it is at a blueblood a DOBO position would be a huge step back in job prestige at this point.  Hinson got a head coaching job from the DOBO because he was a head coach for 11 years before going to KU.  Howard has been an assistant coach for five years.  There will be plenty of assistant coaching positions that open up this spring if the current openings at Florida and Kansas State don't work for him.

Unless Bill demotes someone, or he thinks someone else may leave.  If I were Dooley, I'd be like "Ya, keep paying me the same salary and don't make me go recruit."

in case you're in a cave, it has been widely confirmed.

No chance he ends up at KU.    But Florida is a possibility.

Why the hell would he pick KSU? I mean he's delivered the recruits to BW before only to see them riding the pine per ilinifan. No way we get anything but coaches nobody wants. We're mumped - I just hope we have enough sense to treat him like the Turner Gill of basketball and axe him after 2 yrs.
We are K-State and we love to hire SHlTTY coaches.
