Martin leaving Kansas State altogether over this seems very rash, hard-headed and spiteful. In other words, it seems exactly like Frank Martin.

Thanks creepy cat... it's a good article

I know we're supposed to hate gpc and stuff, but I find myself enjoying many of Rob's tweets/stories.

I think he absolutely killed it with that article.  Well written 'ish right there.  Color me impressed.

Monday 3/26 Rumors(not coming from me at all) state Illinois wants to talk to Martin.  If this is true, then it could delay things with Martin a little.  If a program like Illinois wants to talk, you have to listen.  Seems like John Groce is the popular name for the Illinois job, but I wouldn't blame them for looking at Martin.  I married into an Ohio Bobcat Family(wife's uncle played for Ohio), but I have no idea what Groce would do.

USC is a pawn in a power play.  Ill may be a legit EMAW concern if the behind the scenes are as bad as it sounds.

Illinois actually showing real interest in Martin would only confirm that Illinois is not that great of a job.

frank's an bad person.

but he wins games, which is really all i care about.

i look at the pool of available coaches right now, and can't think of one that would likely be as successful here as martin has been the last five years.

because of the above two points, every effort needs to be made to keep him here.  tons of money, getting rid of currie, whatever.

Splitting hairs.  The perception of the job by our fans is all that matters.

It never was.

Alabama and Oklahoma were able to nab the hot VCU coaches back in the day.  Illinois couldn't.

There you go.

If push came to shove, I feel pretty confident that we could lure Groce here with little to no problem.

Did you guys know he makes $250k (plus incentives)?

We could up his salary about six or seven times over without blinking.

The University of South Carolina has announced that Frank Martin will be the next head basketball coach.  When reached for comment, Coach Martin said "I'm excited for the opportunity. I've been working with cocks in the athletics department for years, so I expect it to be a smooth transition."  Casey Scott had no comment.

We should all be fistpumping. The more attention this gets, the better for K-State.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Athletics Director John Currie announced today staff promotions for four departmental administrators.

Casey Scott has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Operations and Event Management, Laird Veatch to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Strategic Initiatives, Chad Weiberg to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Mike Clark to Senior Director of Development.

“Casey, Chad, Laird and Mike are key members of our leadership team and are well-respected by all of our staff members,” Currie said. “While our overall athletics staff may be among the smallest in the Big 12 Conference, I believe they work as hard and with as much maximum purpose and efficiency as any staff in the entire country."

A 27-year veteran in the intercollegiate athletics profession, including the last 10 at K-State, Scott leads the Athletics Operations unit, and manages the department’s game management and special event operations. He also supervises the offices of athletics communications and Powercat Video, the sports medicine and strength and conditioning staffs, while serving as the Senior Staff administrator for the sports of baseball, men’s basketball, and men’s and women’s golf.

“Casey has provided our department tremendous leadership in many areas, much of it behind the scenes, as we continue towards our vision of a model intercollegiate athletics program,” added Currie. “I appreciate the perspective, values and experience he brings to the table each and every day.”

Whoever came up with the initial Matt Painter/Purdue/Mizzou comparison is really spot on.

Just got off the phone with Frank Martin's agent. When asked about South Carolina he tells me, "We have had conversations."
