Is there any way Currie retains Martin with no raise? I mean Frank can't possibly really want to go to South Carolina, can he?
I was told once in business "if you are going to bluff your best deal to try to get them to be better you better be prepared to walk away when they don't call it. If you don't you will never be able to get better deals out of them again." In other words, if Martin is bluffing on SC and Currie calls it then Martin either has to walk away or the next time he has an "opportunity" he won't even get a sniff from us on it being believable.
I think Currie knows frank is hot headed enough to leave over it so he will give him a raise to stay. but if this turns into a either Frank stays or Currie stays my money is on Currie. Currie has raised a ton of money for the school and most of it is in football. Football makes us money, basketball doesn't make us the same amount. A bad basketball coach will bring down basketball. A bad AD can bring down the whole athletic department, like Krause tried to do. this is just IMHO
