Yes, good job of getting played by Frank's people, small timey reporters.

Do you want to do more gagksu posts?  Now seems like a good time.

when doesn't?

Seems like it would save us a ton of trouble if the mods just pinned this thread and dropped the 2012 part of the name.  :dunno:

Cassidy's media buddies are sure jerking it to his column. Haven't seen an ass kissing like that since Kent Babb revealed that Curtis Malone didn't like Frank.

old gchats/emails ...

5/18/09 - day currie was hired

me: FIREJONCURRIE.COM is available!
friend: buy it now
friend: (except it's JoHn Currie)
me: FIREJOHNCURRIE.COM is available!

1/19/10 - hate begins

Me: The more I hear about John Currie ... the less I think of him.

1/22/10 - theory

I think Schulz brought Currie in to fill the athletic department with genuine people with high integrity to make up for the eff of a mess Krause and his cronies (including Snyds) left. And Frank might fit that description, but he's also animated; he cusses; ESPN puts its cameras on him, not because he's smiling, but because he's ranting and raving and cursing and spitting. He's also dark-skinned, not a Midwestern and, at the end of the day, many K-State fans will never, ever be able to relate to him.

So right now he's winning games, and fans like that. But Schulz truly believes (and he's told Currie to believe the same thing, if he doesn't already) that K-Staters would rather have good people they can relate to rather than wins. And, you know what, he's probably right.

Currie is going to make things miserable for Frank, because the administration doesn't want him around. If he weren't winning, it would be easy. I think they truly hope this team collapses this year, or Frank gets an opportunity to move up at season's end.

They certainly don't want to throw money they don't have on a guy who is not "K-State".

1/22/10 - don't like currie

friend: ok, correct me if I'm wrong here:
Currie is weird, right?
just odd
kind of nerdy
me: yeah - i dont like him.

10/15/10 - love schulz, hate currie

me: i really like schulz.
currie can [NSFW!]
but i like schulz

10/17/10 - friend wants deb fired

friend: Do college basketball programs usually have to share their practice facilities with the women's team? Seems like if Deb is getting an equal share of one of the nicest facilities in the nation, she should have to produce more than she has. There should be no excuse. If she can't bring in better recruits, win in the NCAA tourney and sell more tickets to games, then she should be done. I don't really care if K-State has a good women's program, but maybe this would give Currie some leverage to fire Deb. That would be a positive in my opinion.
me: what about title ix?
friend: oh yeah

Rake, I started to think you and I might be the same person and it's a weird Tyler Durden thing until the Deb part.  My women's hoops fan friend would never want Deb fired.

3. South Carolina would like Kansas State’s Frank Martin. But if Martin is seriously interested in leaving Kansas State (he has publicly said he hasn’t talked to anyone), he should look at Mississippi State, which is a better basketball job than South Carolina. There is plenty of talent in the state, more recent success in the sport, and a more passionate fan base for hoops.

anyone feel like copy/pasting Cassidy's article re: Frank/Currie?

PM if necessary.

Currie better make nice or Frank will leave and make sure everyone knows it was Currie's fault

Cass complained about not getting return calls from Currie, someone from Frank's corner replied "welcome to frank's world"

Cass and Frank are not bff's.  Anyone know this back story?

didn't get past the 2nd paragraph which is incomprehensible.  Frank leaving would be "a warning shot aimed at Wildcat director of athletics John Currie and his administration."

good article (also from Luke...sorry for posting article stuff, i just find it interesting, I'll stop):

http://www.lostlettermen.com/frank-martin-looks-ready-to-bolt-manhattan/

Let me tell you something about Martin: Where he came from in Miami, people don’t take kindly to snitches. And they certainly don’t like people going over their head and cutting them out of the decision process that affects their job. Whether Martin is right to feel this way is open to debate.

But Martin appears furious, as he is reportedly interested in the South Carolina job that, at best, would be a lateral move. Martin is no dummy, though. He knows how big a blow this could be to Currie, who is overseeing an incredibly successful time for K-State football and men’s basketball.

Martin leaving Kansas State altogether over this seems very rash, hard-headed and spiteful. In other words, it seems exactly like Frank Martin.

God damn it Frank, if anyone understands that snitches get stitches it's us.  Let's keep this in the family and handle this internally.
