I don't know about you, but all triathlons seem pretty rowdy to me.

Guys, I fear our friend FR has been silenced. I mean, it seems like the news about closing embassies and Al Queda(sp) threats would come with a bunch of awesome insidery posts and updates with pics from Mrs. Rex, but instead I have been getting everything from BBC and CNN.

It was absolutely wonderful while it lasted.

I have nothing to add. I honestly didn't realize this was a big deal until I turned on the news here. I was just trying to avoid turning this into "felix rex posts links to news about Cairo".

The people in Cairo were just happy that, with this Sunday off and the scheduled holidays for Ramadan, they only have to work two days this week. Mrs Rex is not concerned, but to be fair, that's not always a reliable indicator since it takes a lot to move the needle with her. She went to brunch downtown before hitting up some water aerobics today.

Oh, and hottie's dog got banned from the office for being a distraction. Can't remember if I posted that.

yeah. it's a clusterfuck.
-MOI says MBers started firing, MB says "nuh-uh we're peaceful" "Don't shoot us. We're not Jews!"
-police halted "symbolic funeral march" at second-largest location and found AKs and ammo in the coffin. Proceeded to burn/shoot everying.
-MB started burning police stations, trains, and (of course) coptic churches all over the country
-MB leader Beltagy (and four others) arrested.
-Egyptian TV claiming 30 Hamas operatives were arrested at main sit-in
-MB claiming casualties in the 100s, MOI says dozens (from both sides).

There's a lot of disturbing videos coming out. Mostly of MBers torturing police (including shoving a police vehicle off a bridge with all the officers inside). Less video of the security forces, because they're arresting Daily Beast and Reuters correspondents, seizing their cameras, and erasing footage (a hallmark of any legitimate operation).

The MB is gonna lose this particular fight, but they're basically gonna return to their roots and become a hezbollah/hamas type entity. Egypt is gonna be quite violent for at least the next few weeks.
