yeah. it's a clusterfuck.
-MOI says MBers started firing, MB says "nuh-uh we're peaceful" "Don't shoot us. We're not Jews!"
-police halted "symbolic funeral march" at second-largest location and found AKs and ammo in the coffin. Proceeded to burn/shoot everying.
-MB started burning police stations, trains, and (of course) coptic churches all over the country
-MB leader Beltagy (and four others) arrested.
-Egyptian TV claiming 30 Hamas operatives were arrested at main sit-in
-MB claiming casualties in the 100s, MOI says dozens (from both sides).

There's a lot of disturbing videos coming out. Mostly of MBers torturing police (including shoving a police vehicle off a bridge with all the officers inside). Less video of the security forces, because they're arresting Daily Beast and Reuters correspondents, seizing their cameras, and erasing footage (a hallmark of any legitimate operation).

wow @ that police car....

Fargo calls this a regular tuesday tho :)

MB is trying to build a new fortified sit-in in our peaceful little suburb of Maadi. May be time to bring Mrs_Rex home.

With the prediction of MB returning to such roots, sounds like it might be scary for a few more decades.  It is going to be a real shame if the Arab Spring eventually leads to results that actually make the country worse to live in than before.

we're obviously past when it's time to turn our cameras away from these savages, we need to just let the genocide play itself out.

this is an official call to all news agencies to focus on funner, less passe types of things as we finish 3Q.  tia.  #FINISH 3Q

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Here's some pictures of Obama and the Egyptian generals as various animals.

And now there's video from the fighting under the bridge that includes the APC falling and MBers immediately running over to beat the police.

Yes. Confirmed.

Also, funny story, the new USAID number 2 in Egypt has the same name as the current ambassador that all egyptians hate (Anne Patterson). So, we have literally doubled down on Anne Pattersons in Egypt.

It's a reference to the top general, El Sissi (they don't pronounce it the way we would). Vendors are pretty hilarious about adapting to whatever the sentiment in their neighborhood is. The "Sissi sandwich" also comes with a free cola:

Meanwhile, in another part of Cairo, a naive american gal and her egyptian fiance threw an engagement party for themselves. A good time was had by all with the exception of the future father-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom. Both bawled like babies.

How'd they push a manned (OR WOMANNED!) vehicle anywhere, let alone off a bridge?

Probably wouldn't have happened if there'd been a pak head spare tire cover on that thing.
