Wait, he got a 40yd dumpster for that shed?

There are few greater joys than a lot of room being left in a dumpster, imo.

I did this once as a hint to mrs8 to change her hoarding ways.  Backfired spectacularly.

It was my mom that ordered it and she didn't know how big to get so she just got the 40yd dumpster. My dad came back a day early from the farm when he saw it getting delivered in the ring camera to make sure she doesn't throw away "Anything good".

I went to Home Depot earlier to get a torque wrench to take my TV mount down and walked out with this  :sdeek:

I take care of my stuff. That said, when I want/need something I just go all out.

I also spent like $900 at best buy on geek squad to mount my TV and I bought a new sound bar too. So a solid $1200 day of shopping.

wtf are you spending $300 on tools then paying geek squad to mount a television that requires a screwdriver and a level

what started as a “hey can you put up some storage hook thingies in my shed” ended up as replacing about 14’ of completely rotted out sill plate with jackshit for tools on hand except for an old sawzall with a shitty blade, an impact driver and the jack from my car

Please tell me that lumber is not what you used for the new sill plate.

Repainted the house number on the curb. Even added a purple powercat using a stencil that Mrs SSOC had in storage. Felt good.

Installed plexiglass window well covers today.  It only highlights the fact that 2 of my window wells need to be redone.   They're too low, off center, and not even level.  1970s construction.

They snap on.  If they fit right should be minimal clean out, but they don't so we'll see.

I grew up in a basement bedroom with these and it rarely rains in SW KS but when it did my bedroom flooded. Sucked bigly.

The only time my basement has gotten water in it was before I had a cover over my window wells. My gutters got clogged and overflowed directly over an uncovered window well.

I was doing laundry and noticed some water and followed it to the source. The entire window well was full of water but somehow the 1950's windows held pretty well and there was only a trickle making it's way down the wall.

Unfinished basement should have been my first clue when we moved in 30+ years ago.  Any rain ended up in the basement.   Dirt work, French drains, over sized gutters with extensions now we're dry almost 95+ percent of the time.  The covers will hopefully reduce the need for my 60 year old butt to get down and dig out debris.

Any emaw-elite handymen have tips for removing old caulk from shower tile other than just scraping like crazy with a razor, etc?
