A little distance might help you with this. It's tough when you care about someone so much, but you don't feel like you're getting it in return. I've also dated many that my mom/friends weren't a fan of and it makes it really hard. I will say tho, at first my friends were't a huge fan of Ms. Wacky, but they just missed single wacky and they learned to really enjoy her company over time. It's all about adjustments on both sides, if both partners are wanting it to work out.
