Weird story, I spent a little time in Nyc a couple years ago. Enough time to go on a date with a girl I met at a party. I held the door open maybe twice or 3 times. It blew her mind, she said nobody had ever done that for her and said it must have been my good Midwestern values.

i think, generally, they appreciate being picked up so i usually just insist it's no problem and pick them up. unless of course it really is a hassle then say ok we'll meet.
