This is very strange. Wouldn't any company large enough to have an HR department have a formal review and counseling process? How can they fire you without telling you what you are doing wrong and giving you an opportunity to fix it? Bad business on their part unless there is some specific legal or ethical violation, in which case you should still be told what's happening.

Especially with new employees.  Most large companies understand their is a process of having to acclimate and guide the new guys over a certain period of time.  For instance, if your PTO use is being frowned upon, someone should mention that to you has an informal heads up or warning.

This is just really weird.

It shouldn't matter what he uses his PTO for. It's none of their damn business.

Agreed.  It is already well documented that this is weird.

I think they were upset that they hired a 16 year old when they thought they were hiring a 28 year old.

Given the details you have provided I would be led to believe someone in upper management dislikes you personally and has instructed HR to get rid of you.  Did you bang someone's wife maybe?

No. I spilt a drink on the president at a HH on accident and I don't kiss my managers ass like everyone else.

Yes, but I don't believe fanning is holding anything back from gE.blog.  It's something he's either unaware of, or hasn't thought of.

Has to be.  HR is really good at misdirection when it comes to termination.

There is a thread on here about how hard it is to fire someone these days.  With fanning's alleged sales badassery, you would think that it wouldn't be so easy for them to just can him or whatever.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Don't you guys find it odd that a person who has never been fired before, leads the team in sales, and is let go?
