Can someone recommend a plumber/handyman in the KC area for a relatively simple job? Just need the faucet in my kitchen sink replaced but I can't get the job done because I'm a beta city boi. I've replaced a bathroom faucet but this one may need to be sawed off since the "Anchors" that secure the faucet to the sink are "sealed" or something..cant get em off.

Vielhauer plumbing has been my go to for quite some time.  They get to us quick and are inexpensive.

I redid my master bath a few years ago and didn’t want to mess with setting my own shower base. I have another plumber I have worked with a lot as well. I had both bid the job and Vielhauer was half the price and did great. They have done quite a bit of small stuff for me. 10/10

Noted! I need some small crap done like flip where the disposal is and the hot/cold are the wrong way so just going to buy a new kitchen faucet and have them do all that at once.

had these dudes out to bid what I needed and was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the tip!

I have no idea how much a new ac/furnace cost but I'm guessing it might take my breath away

My neighbor said the first quote he got on a new AC unit was $15,000.

I'm going with a heat pump.  Not very cheap but hopefully a good long term decision.

I am at a year at our new house. I am sending a final list of items to the builder to fix and then we're on our own.
What type of things are legit things that need fixed and what are things that are minor and not worth bringing up?

Multiple raised drywall screws that were mudded over but noticeable not flush with the wall?
Some settling cracks in the drywall in the ceiling where our living room/dining room meet?
caulking cracks along some doors and windows? kind of looks like the caulking wasn't thick enough and now you can see into a gap.
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.

Anything you don't want to do yourself is legit to bring up.

I would bring up all those things. Those are fairly normal, but they should def fix. I'm sure you would have mentioned it, but I would make sure I don't feel any drafts in doors/windows or any type of water leaks anywhere.

lmao every door and window has a draft.  The front door has about a 1 inch section where the seal is slightly flattened and you can see light where it doesnt press against the door. When the wind blows into it, you feel it.

That seems like an old house thing and not a new house thing so I would def bring it up.

If you don't feel like you're asking for too much when you turn that list in, you're doing it wrong.  Now is your chance to make it their problem.

I would make crap up just to see what sticks.  Clogged drains, faulty disposal, etc. Those fuckers probably left a rag in your drainpipe or some crap, put them to work.

Need a new hot water heater. Current tank is 60 gallons. A 75 gallon won’t fit & thru don’t make 60s anymore. I really don’t want to go down & I’ve heard tankless are a PITA.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

We got a Navien tankless heater about 2 years ago. It has been awesome. Unlimited hot water and no more fights about who used up all the hot water. I'm amazed at how efficient they are. The exhaust pipe is PVC that is cool to the touch even during heavy use. Just make sure you have it installed by an experienced plumber/dealer.

I've had to replace hot water twice and both times the experienced plumber talked me out of tankless and/or why it would be a PITA to install the new exhaust, etc. Just punted and went with good ole tank o hot water.

What scheduled tasks do you do to your house monthly/quarterly/yearly that more people should do? I looked up a frequency schedule and put it on my to do list to remind me and every time it comes up I'm like I don't need to do that. crap like 'wipe down the walls', etc. eff that.

We have probably the world's best plumber. He's our house's best friend. The day we moved into our house, we found an unexpected leak in the house that was slowly flooding the living room. He came out on a Saturday morning (on his way to the golf course) and isolated the the pipes that were causing our leak so we could use the rest of the plumbing in the house. They've been out so many times to clean out clogs, fix stuff various stuff in our 60+yo house over the years. The tankless heater install was probably their crowning achievement. It's a good feeling to have a great plumber on your house's side.

Drain the hot water heater every spring. We play someone to come out & service the AC & furnace every  6 months.
