Condensing unit won’t turn on, repair folks can’t get out until Monday.  :curse:

Going to be a hot sleep.

@ipa4me if I send you a video of it trying and failing to start, could you diagnose?
:adios:

Capacitor.

That'll be $150 service diagnostic fee.

How to repair...

Pull disconnect.

Removed electric cover from ac unit.

Remove screw that attaches metal band around the capacitor.

Take photo of wires connected to capacitor. Make sure you can clearly see the letters on top of the capacitor.

Remove wires. Note size of capacitor. Something like 45/5 ufd 440 vac.

Order from Amazon with Saturday delivery.

Reverse steps.

Cool and happy wife in a couple of hours.

Just arranged to have all of the windows and doors replaced at our place.  Holy eff....do they make windows and doors out of gold?

I just got a couple of estimates for new windows in my crib.  One guy was $8400 and the other was $6200.  This is for only 11 windows.    :blindfold:

if you're thinking about adding a master bath to a ~95 year old house, you better be a billionaire.

This might go in life hacks thread but buy a home that needs a little bit of work or for a low price.. taxes will be lower and you can live in it while doing the work.. then sell said house for a profit and move onto another one. after doing this twice I've been advised we are not doing it again and the next house will be the last house for quite sometime.

She wants a bigger house, more west of the city. She wants another kid too. "This was never my forever home". We got a little inheritance recently, so I think she wants to put it into something for our future. We've been here for 3 years now. My student loan payments will be done in less than 2 years now and our credit is amazing. I think she sees the writing on the wall right now and wants to jump on it. I'm pretty indifferent about it, but I do like how she's trying to convince me, by trying to get a house close to a golf course.

We checked out a few houses over by Falcon ridge recently. I wasn't impressed with how much house you get for the cost. This will be at least a year process, hopefully.

Agreed. I'm the moving guy that everybody calls to help. So the only fortunate thing about it will be, everybody and their dog owes me. I've been helping her parents move out of their place in Shawnee for over the last month. They have two storage units and a new house that we've been moving all this stuff into. Craziness.

One of my friends wife used this same tactic to convince him to move out to falcon valley/ridge 3 years ago. I think he has played the course a total of 4 times.....When you inevitably give in to her demands and move out there make sure she knows that you are agreeing to the move on the condition that you get to play the course once a month no questions asked.
