I would never get a job for a friend where I was responsible for their work product. I'm too nice as it is, and if they didn't do good work I'd have to do it myself and act like it was all them and nobody got time for that.

Working with a buddy as a peer would be fine as long as it's a job where the duties are very segregated.

On one hand I want to know what happens. On the other hand I feel like there is a 60% chance you won't live to tell the story.

This sounds like an excellent way to bust through the afternoon slump.  All fired up, guns a blazin.

Our assistant at work just lost her sister due to suicide like less then a month ago. I've felt very bad for her and it's been so awkward this last week, because another recruiter won't shut up about what a great show "13 reasons why" is. Like, she talked about it all week, and just talked about it to my cube neighbor who sits next to her. How do you tell someone to stfu about stuff like that?

Also empower your coworker to stand up for themselves if possible.

Take the rude one aside, and use I statements about her talk of the show being in poor form in your opinion. Don't speak on behalf of the friend that lost someone, they can do that for themselves if they feel they need too.

I don't know if that even made sense.

Here is what i would do. Take rude coworker aside. Hey, I've heard a lot about that show and that it is pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation. However, so and so just lost someone to suicide and perhaps it's best to keep conversations about the show a little more private. If I had (or if I actually have) recently lost someone in that way it'd be painful to hear about at work where I want to focus on my job. I know that was not your intent. I just wanted to share how it made me feel. Thank you.

Unless the coworker that lost someone is close to me, I wouldn't ever mention that I had that chat to them. I did it as a a kindness not for recognition.

I contradicted myself. If the coworker is close to you. Tell her and empower her. If not, just let it ride and feel good about a good deed.

It's fine in the warehouse. But good grief this place.

They hire everyone as a temp. Then you can bid on jobs but they go by seniority. Asked for a resume and mine showed 2.5 years of warehouse and fork lift experience. So they hired me as a temp to load trailers. But are in desperate need of for lift drivers. It's stupid.

All the employees say they keep cutting wages and benefits.

I didn't know how great I had it at Target. I miss it a lot.

I mean I'm glad they hired me and I'm collecting a pay check and the work us easy. The pay is mediocre. I'd rather just my ass for the 20 an hour i was making them this 13 for pud work. I messed up when I quit Target

Recruiter... Hi. You'd be a good fit for a job in Louisville. What are your salary requirements?

Me... I make X. Car allowance is X. Standard health and 401K bennies. Three weeks vacation. Ten paid holidays. Work from home.

I need pay to be higher and be flexible on working from home if I'm going to change jobs.

Recruiter... Oh. No worries. Here's the perfect job. Pay is 10% less but a perfect fit. Since you'd be a manager, you'd need to be in the office most days.

Me... Click.

Why would you even bother offering the interview if it doesn't meet my requirements?
