i'm a pretty confident guy but if my boss took me to microcenter and blew a few grand on computer crap on my second day, i'd really start worrying about stuff working out at the company.

what i meant by this is i would be like, oh crap this better be a good fit b/c otherwise they just went and blew a bunch of money on me and this computer crap

Yeah, he wanted me to pick everything out. So, I was trying to be as frugal as possible.

So you bought a bunch of desktop stuff to set up in the conference room and then your boss said he wants you to work from home?

The buying of the computer stuff is maybe the most bizarre part of this for me.

Sounds like the job is probably a front for a major drug operation. First the test if you could keep personal stuff secret (failed), then the fact that office space and equipment seems like an afterthought to getting someone on the payroll so expenses are more in line with revenue, then telling everyone to stay out of the office (or just chum because he failed #1).

He failed #1 because he told us about the father/son letter? But how would they know that?

if he starts working at home, the humorous stories are done for.   :frown:

Not a startup. I did interview with one. It was terrible. Like we weren't speaking the same language. The "our crap is all mumped up" guy was much more my speed.

Cincinnati looks pretty average for startups. http://cin.ci/2bqrquF

A colleague of mine once tuned in to a group Skype thing and a salesman was working from home, very clearly in his whitey tighteys, and thought he had turned off his camera.

So...have faith.
