We booked the Hyatt Regency the 30th-3rd. Was going to book Eliza Jane but doesn't allow cancellations and don't want to commit pending a meltdown saturday.

 :excited:

29th-1st for us. The kids wife have school on the 3rd

You guys are so high class. Those Hyatt rooms were $1k/night on friday and saturday.

Oh, I'm not at the Hyatt. My army of kids is why I struggled so much to find a room.

I'm not even looking or booking crap until the Cats take care of business tomorrow.  At that point, it's time to get serious about burning some points.

What? Maybe if you only book for a single night. I have been looking at the same hotel for those nights and it's only ~$350 a night.

Booking stuff on points is always refundable. At least it is with Marriott/SWA
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Based on today's results, it looks like it's LSU vs Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl!

LSU still won the West and will be in the SEC championship game, but has 2 losses and won't be in the playoff even if they beat Georgia.

I think Bama will jump LSU in the rankings after they get smoked by Georgia and be the highest non playoff team available.

Use this to get out of MSY, which can be a zoo, but probably half the price of Uber.

Also, someone said Pelham Hotel. It's great. Corner rooms w/windows are cool, the brunch spot downstairs is good too.

Some savvy bowl committee has to lineup a KU/MU game, but I think the Jayhawks would run from it as an everything-to-lose, nothing-to-gain situation.

Hmmmm, how does the SEC fill their sugar bowl spot? Do they let the bowl choose it or does the SEC choose it?

I thought the Sugar takes the next highest ranked SEC team, and the Orange bowl after that. But not sure if the Sugar has to take the next highest, or if they get to choose, or if there is a stipulation to take the champ game loser.

Hmm

FAQs:Which SEC Team qualifies for the CFP?
The winner of the SEC Championship Game automatically qualifies for a spot in the Sugar Bowl if that team is not selected to participate in the four-team playoff. If the SEC Champion is selected to participate in the four-team playoff it will play in the Peach Bowl or Fiesta Bowl. The next highest-ranked SEC team not in the four-team playoff goes to the Sugar Bowl.

So it's Bama.   I assume they pass LSU

If the `Cats beat TCU and knock them out of the CFP, do we lose the Sugar Bowl bid?

big 12 champ gets the sugar bowl, if not in CFP top 4

even if TCU ends up ranked higher

Big 12 CFP Contract Bowl Qualifier

The Big 12 champion will earn the Conference's automatic berth for its CFP contract bowl slot.

Additional Big 12 Teams in the CFP

If a Big 12 team(s) is rated in the top four of the CFP, it will play in one of the semifinals. This does not affect the Big 12 designee being placed in a CFP New Year's Bowl if it is not one of the top four teams. There is not a limit on the number of teams from one conference that can be placed in CFP bowls. Additional Big 12 teams may be selected for other CFP New Year's bowls based on their ranking in the final CFP Poll.

If TCU keeps it close maybe they will still make the playoffs with LSU's loss and Ohio State's asskicking, especially if USC loses in the PAC12 ship.

Tennessee fans are lobbying hard for the sugar bowl, I don't understand the south enough to know why they want it so bad and don't want the orange bowl, at all.
