If TCU keeps it close maybe they will still make the playoffs with LSU's loss and Ohio State's asskicking, especially if USC loses in the PAC12 ship.

If Utah beats USC again I don't know how TCU misses the cfp.

Beat TCU, USC loses to Utah, and committee forgets Alabama and tOSU exist?  Someone help me understand why we are more likely to make the playoff in this model than Bama.

Zero chance. 538 are 100% downgrades.

Their prediction model HEAVILY weights conference championships.

I imagine the pregame and post game is way more fun in New Orleans

I've been in nola for new years with my bro and can confirm this. The whole french quarter by the river is dedicated to the bowl game. It's nuts. Miami is cool and all, but if you want the fullest bowl game atmosphere, sugar bowl is where it's at.

Only a 33% chance of TCU making the playoffs. Given that there is some chance for them to lose and still get in, that means they think there is about a 1/4 chance they beat us. Sounds about right.

I tried to make all the most favorable outcomes for us to happen and it maxes at 58%, so I think it takes into account winning the conference is basically all the odds you get (we're not getting in duh but wanted to see how it was working)

Oh, I didn't realize the numbers were if TCU had already lost. I think 33% is really high in that case.

We'd be conference champs, with the third best win of the season (LSU over Georgia and Purdue over Michigan being the top two). We'd definitely be in the top 6 in this scenario. We'd have to beat TCU by a million for us to pass them. I think they're pretty close to being a lock, win or lose.

The scenario I screenshot doesn't have Michigan or Georgia losing

If we had 4 losses, I'd be pretty skeptical of our chances at the playoff. With only 3 losses, we're practically in the driver's seat.

If TCU loses, Ohio State will get in because their loss to Michigan will be better than TCU's loss to K-State.

It's bullshit, but that is how the beauty pageant works. It's also kind of funny, because TCU would already be in if we didn't have a title game, and we only play the game because TCU and Baylor got screwed over in 2014.

Yeah, but also probably because we lost three games.
