Beat TCU, USC loses to Utah, and committee forgets Alabama and tOSU exist?  Someone help me understand why we are more likely to make the playoff in this model than Bama.
Wait WHAT???

We'd be conference champs, with the third best win of the season (LSU over Georgia and Purdue over Michigan being the top two). We'd definitely be in the top 6 in this scenario. We'd have to beat TCU by a million for us to pass them. I think they're pretty close to being a lock, win or lose.
The scenario I screenshot doesn't have Michigan or Georgia losing

Holy crap

Their prediction model HEAVILY weights conference championships.

I literally burst out laughing when I saw that chart.

I’m with lib7 on this one why should we settle for a sugar bowl when a National championship is available? Let’s get this bread

I’m with MIR that I could see TCU squeaking into the championship if they narrowly lose to the Cats, but the thought that a 3 loss KSU team would leapfrog everyone in front of us is just deranged.

If Tulane wins the AAC on Saturday, do they lock up a NY6 bowl as well?

as long as Texas doesn't jump us, which I don't think can/will happen
We can lose to TCU and be ranked lower than Texas and it still doesn’t matter. The stipulation is the team with the better conference record. We’re in no matter what.

*Assuming TCU doesn't get effed somehow. I'm too gunshy to buy non-refundable hotels this week I guess I'm saying.

I bought refundable anyway in case of illness, but if I were you I’d look on the bright side: If TCU just beat the #10 team to finish 12-0 or 13-0 or whatever and DROPS in the rankings, then you’ve just donated to the biggest controversy in the CFP.

Only a 33% chance of TCU making the playoffs. Given that there is some chance for them to lose and still get in, that means they think there is about a 1/4 chance they beat us. Sounds about right.

they have the % chances listed for each game. the KSU vs TCU game is 43% / 57%, respectively

I did not realize that was UT’s AD at first. I just assumed he was a sports reporter. That’s such a great reaction.

KSU Sugar Bowl travel packages have gone live. https://k-statesportstours.com/event/sugar-bowl/

Am I the only one who thinks they kind of suck? We booked a nice looking hotel near a cool looking area of the French Quarter and it was less than $1000 for both nights. Even the "land only" options are priced starting at $1300 PER PERSON. No way the pregame events are that baller.

(The chartered airfare option seems only decent IF you live in MHK)

This is making me want to visit New Orleans. But not for the game. Like, another time.

Everyone I know is booking for zero dollars.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

It also makes me seriously wonder how different this all truly would be if hell we didn't lose to Tulane, and/or Texas, those model would be just, holy crap

I'd read a blog entry of winters or some longtime gE'r going on and staying on that alumni association trip all the way through.

I'm not sure if/how it'd be bowl-related, but I've never heard more KSU football talk out here than last night and today with UW people super mad about being ranked behind KSU and PSU (and more relevantly, Utah).

Yes, Pac 12 schools have been crying for three weeks about this. Both of those teams are well behind us in nearly every rating system I've seen. Washington lost to rough ridin' Arizona State.
