Going to San Francisco with the wife over Memorial weekend. Open to suggestions on things to do and places to eat, etc.  Obviously, we'll hit the high points on the tourism  list, but if there are other can't miss spots, let me know. Neither of us have been before.  :bwpopcorn:   :drink:

where are you staying, and will you have a car?

Staying at the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf (on points, duh). Don't have a car as of now, but would consider it for a day trip. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Grab some brews and walk around FW.  They totally let you walk with your beer.

Also, if you will be there for Memorial day, Presidio looks pretty spectacular with the flags out.  If you are into that kind of stuff.

Stay in your hotel and leave LA as soon as you can. I ventured out, got hit up by angry panhandlers right out of the hotel, used my credit card in a restaurant or sports bar and ended up with over $3000 of fraudulent charges on my card. The place is dirty and there is a dark slim on everything. I assume it is from the smog. Cab ride from the airport to our hotel cost more than flying from Kansas City to LA. Would have to say it was easily the worst business trip experience I ever had. Can't think of any reason to go back.

I am currently in suburban-hell LA for work and I can't get over how good looking and nonchalant everyone appears.

of course I had access to a car and google maps before I came. :driving:

Going on a cruise (i know i know, it's with my family), out of SC next week.  Don't know what islands i'm going to.  Think I'm parasailing.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Had a two hour layover in LAX the other day and mrs. dave left to stroll around the airport and look for a Kardashian while I had a beer.

it's bad. isn't it?
i've been in 1, 6 (which got so bad they had to redo it), and 7.  they all suck.

people watching is ok but i never see any celebs.  if you ever watch TMZ you'd think all of hollywood hangs out there, but no.

scott disick is enough man to cover all man bases.  not surprising that rob feels inadequate.

RDU-EWR-BOM and return. Booked yesterday. Literally will only be on the ground for less than 3 days. Crappy trip, will not be in the city at all other than to and from the airport. Would have liked to spend a couple of days in the city.

I would love to visit Mumbai and India in general.  What is the flight time on the Newark to Mumbai?  Has to be a rough ridin' monster.  Hope you are in business or better.

15:10 Business. Flying United on a 777. Probably the crappy configuration (I think some of them have a new configuration). At least it will be better than USAir on a 737-(300- I think). I will never fly on one of those pieces of crap again...may as well be in coach.

k_m will be traveling with a young filly to NYC sometime this later summer/early fall.  Where should we fly into, where should we stay?  First time for both parties.

What's your budget like? Hotels in Manhattan are crazy exspensive, but it's the best place to stay.

$$ is not really a problem, but I don't like to spend money unnecessarily.  What do you mean by crazy expensive?

Lowest we found for a Saturday night, was $350 a night at the clarion. It was a great location though. Right in the middle of Manhattan.

Neat, I'll find a place to stay in Manhattan.  That way we can get all the times square out of her on the first day.

fly into LaGuardia
Thank you, PC.  I will take your advice and do exactly that.
