Went on my first cruise for our honeymoon last week. Had a great time other than the hot tub edgers.

We sailed with Royal Caribbean from Tampa to Cozumel, Roatan, Belize City, and Costa Maya on the Radiance of the Seas.

We're already planning the next trip. Taking the girls and their boyfriends. Haven't locked down an itinerary yet.

I want to know what a hot tub edger is but I feel like I'll regret asking

From an excursion perspective, I liked Roatan. We did the sloth and monkey experience. Pretty cool to hold them and interact. We also went swimming with dolphins in Cozumel and zip lines through caves and jungle in Belize.

Costa Maya was meh. We went to Mayan ruins and a shady ass beach villa. Fully expected cartel to pop out at any time while we were bouncing down a dirt road along the beach.

We're trying to find a cruise that includes Roatan and skips Costa Maya. No luck so far on RC. We may just take a cab downtown for lunch and chill at Malecon21 for the Costa Maya port call. Will definitely be less expensive.

I'm not a big cruise person but my parents love them and the last one I went on with them one of the stops was Costa Maya(this was like 6 years ago). The built up area right where you exit the cruise ship was a literal hell on earth. Imagine 4k people shuttling single file off a ship through a zig zag area with little vendor shops hawking cheap goods/knock off margaritaville bars/locals dressed as Mayans dancing etc etc.

Once we got through that we just took a shuttle/cab about 2 miles south to Mahahaul beach and drank $1 beers and ate some seafood on the beach which was pretty enjoyable. It was a night and day difference compared to the built up area right next to the pier.

Four ships hit the port at the same time. It was a zig zag hell.

I just got back from 4 days in Marco Island and enjoyed the trip. The GF's parents had a house rented for the whole month so we went down for a couple of days.

Things I enjoyed

- The parents had 2 E-Bike/Pedal Assist/whatever which were perfect for exploring the island since its extremely flat and they have big sidewalks everywhere.
- We paid like $75 a person to get access to the JW Marriott Pools/Beach for one day and it was great, well worth it for one day. (We were going to check out the public beach the day before but it was cloudy and raining, ended up just riding the E-Bike's around the island)
- Rented a boat on Saturday with some of their friends and drove it up on the sand here (https://maps.app.goo.gl/erH7iiXyK6r8fFYu7) which was like a giant party cove with food/beer/ice cream boats. The only way to get there is on a boat and we saw some dolphins and manatee's on the way.

Also Marco Island may be one of the most MEGA MAGA places I have been in my life, it made Western KS look moderate. The local country station was called "Trump Country 93.7" and would have some voice actor doing quotes in a trump voice between songs "This is the greatest country station in the world, I've never heard anything as great as this" etc etc.

Trump/Vance Flags all over, saw a flyer for a local bar that was hosting a trump inauguration party which happened over a month ago but it was still up.

Also found this gem at a local water front restaurant.

send me your Melbourne FL tips please. I know the space station stuff is close. I'll prob just be sitting by the pool and beach, but if anyone has any specific food or fun place ideas, let me know. TIA

going to universal next week with the fam. daughter has read the first three (3) harry potter books and is now tall enough to ride all the good rides. also got $2k in food/bev gift cards through some promotion universal was running so going to pound $2k in booze most likely on them. staying in connecting rooms at the hard rock. pretty stoked for warm weather and sun tbh.

Maybe we will see each other at the airport. :pbj: I'd prob need at least 3k in booze drinks to go back to universal, but too am looking forward to warm weather and sun.

The best roller coaster, Escape from Gringots, has spoilers for the seventh book. So make sure your daughter reads up if she wants to avoid spoilers!
