You should do a Rick steves type special about the great (and not so great) burgers of Europe

I went to this ridiculously expensive $40 burger place in Lucerne and they messed up the order twice. It was like Johnny's level.
Skipped the burgers and went to a place where the menus were in German and they had to call the chef out of the kitchen to explain the menu to me. Turns out his specialty was “cordon blues” and you could pick from 8 different cheese types to have placed in your cordon blue. He  Used some scharades to explain “goat cheese”, “cheese that smells like  your shoe” and “hot spicy cheese”.  I got cheese from “the alpkasserie”. The locals seemed to be deriving equal amounts of pleasure from watching us try to order and the Poland / Austria (I think) soccer game.

Switzerland is expensive as eff. Go buy a $20 bagel in Zurich.

And as to Sandstone's comments above, the last time I visited the grounds of the Eiffel Tower, there were rats running around everywhere. Did you see any ratatouilles? Maybe they only come out at night.

Did not see a rat at Eiffel Tower. Did have a nightmare about having to bludgeon a rat to death two nights ago.

This google lens will be a total game changer:

Zurich is on my short list for a trip during the kstate road game stretch in October. Recommend otherwise?

Austin is a really impressive place, I’ve never been here before.

I love it.  Used to go there for work every couple weeks. Pretty pricey to live there comfortably tho.

Another thing that is really different in Europe: people riding bikes on city streets who appear as if they are on their way to perform brain surgery or be in a photo shoot for Vogue or GQ.

But they smell like Hustler or Swank when they get there.

Traffic sucks but it’s a fun city. Depending on traffic it’s like an hour and a half from me

i got dropped off on the way in from the airport at right around 8:15, I was about the 20th person.  they stack those foldable chairs for people to use so I grabbed one and sat my ass down.  ate at 11:45, so 3.5 hours.  it was quite fun talking with my line neighbors and watching old episodes of The Wire on my ipad.  time flew by.  lol at the size of the beef rib.
