Is this the Old Chicago vacancy?
It said it will be two stories. Makes me think it will either be near the theater or they will have to do significant renovations.
No bar should have 50 taps in this town.
Very true.
Ok, wise guys, what is the optimum number of taps a bar in Manhattan should have?
the taphouse has about a 6-8 too many, imo, to ensure that they are always pouring quality beers. the tap selection should be small but varied, there's only a few places here in town that manage their selection appropriately, imo.
Mae's handles their selection the best, which is one of the reasons you see all of the big guys launching in our territory right now picking them for their tap takeover launch events. The team there actually cares about the experience that their patrons are taking in, which is a HUGE part of it.
Places like Tanner's, Kaws, and Kites, I usually try to avoid ordering draft, unless I'm going to be pounding domestics. They have too many handles for the amount of patrons and tastes of their patrons that drink there. Plus, the only time lines get cleaned at a place like that, are when distributors can take the time to come in and do it for them.
