your "even though" clause opens your statement up to lead the reader to believe that red hook "sold out" to budweiser. most people unfamiliar with the beer industry are not keen to the workings of the three-tier (sometimes four) system. the only way for most breweries to gain distribution rights in a territory are to partner with a tied-distributor. these distributors aren't owned by budweiser or miller-coors, just heavily, heavily influenced, so, yea, even if your statement was not "incomplete" it can absolutely be construed as misleading.

I know that you know this information, but many of the people reading this thread might not.

FTR, IN-Bev does own over 25% of the actual brewery (Red Hook) at this point in time, which you have mentioned.

I'm not trying to have a beer industry "knowledge off" here. I just think it is important to be 100% clear when discussing the workings of the beer industry due to its current climate of anger towards those who "sell out".

I felt pretty mislead by 'clams only mentioning distribution two times.  From now on, when talking about beer, please post the current owner of the brand and the distributor as well the ownership history if the beer has changed hands in the last 20 years.

This will allow more clarity and really improve the thread.

and those kegs weren't "old", nespors was just bleeding from their ass.  redhook was one of the first breweries to date label their beer.
