I'm willing to bet that the staff is already well on top of it and is keeping Porter (at least) well sequestered from the other recruits. LHCBS and the staff have acquired a pretty good handle on electronic media, and if they aren't following the tweets I'm sure at least some of the players are.

  WELL SEQUESTERED!    PRETTY GOOD HANDLE ON ELECTRONIC MEDIA!

if there is one thing in the world this staff doesn't have a handle on, it would probably be "electronic media"

You would figure that ADJC would have some person monitoring that type of thing, right?  I mean, I assume every school has someone like that.

My interaction with Tay...

That kid was the nicest, most approachable person in the room at the time, although, a lot of people were a bit taken back because of his "look". (He still had the dread-locks, was a freshman, and looked as strong as an ox)...but myself, my kids, and my wife sat down with him and immediately established a bit of a relationship with him.....

Anyway, I was sure to let my impression be known to Coach. I let Coach know that even though (at the time) Tay looks like a rough and tumble type of NYC thug....he's one of the best kids I've had the honor of meeting....

He will one day be an asset to our society, and we'll all look back and say...."Remember when he was at K-State?"
I want to wake up in a city that never sleeps, etc.

In 1964 I was a sophomore at Manhattan High School. Back then money didn’t drive every decision in college athletics and by some miracle KU agreed to make a double header in Allen field house for the K-State/KU game by having Manhattan High School play Lawrence High prior to the game. To my knowledge that has never been done again. For those interested, Manhattan lost to Lawrence (after having beaten them earlier in the year) and K-State beat KU rather badly (that was the Willie Murrell team). That was the year K-state went to the final four. By the way, Manhattan High lost to Wyandotte and Lucius Allen in the state tournament that year Anyway, I’ve always remembered that game. As a soph I was not on the varsity so didn’t get to play but it was such great fun to see both teams. It was especially unusual because back then each college had a freshman team and the freshman teams from both schools would play just prior to the varsity game. There were always 3 or 4 scholarship players on the freshman team along with walk-ons chosen in tryouts. Again, for those interested, the doors at Ahearn would open at 5:00 and students would rush in to get the best seats they could and for the die-hard BB fans it was great to watch two K-State games…the freshman and the varsity. Of course now there is no freshman team so no pregame game. I just wonder if it would be possible to invite various high schools to play before the varsity game in Bramlage a few times a year. Does anyone remember any high school games before a K-State game?

Ignore Re: Darrius Stroud... Reply

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something fishy is going on and unfortunately, until I get to the bottom of it, I can't post what I thought was an update on Stroud.

Twice I've been given a number by two separate people telling me it was Stroud's cell.

When I text, the person responds and talks about colleges and talking with coaches, but in a very odd manner.

When I call the same number, normally nobody answers and it goes to voicemail where it's not personalized (just reads the digits called). However, on a few occasions, a person does answer and it sounds like a good ol' country boy who insists I have the wrong number and also tells me he doesn't have text messaging.

Basically, I'm pretty certain I'm being punk'd by either Darrius himself or someone pretending to be Darrius. It all really doesn't make sense and I'm not 100% sure... but then again, welcome to the world of cold-call recruiting.

barborugby is on a mission to prove to slumps/hot streaks don't exist and is currently using Will as an example that Will is not actually in a slump, but that its just the laws of statistics that Will has sucked as of late.  He claims confidence and other factors such as slight changes to mechanics to compensate for recent failure have nothing to do with it.  He even posted a link to a chapter in a statistics book.

You're welcome. It was a strange, rather uneventful recruiting year. No wonder Gates and Wallace about went insane trying to find recruiting "scoop." There just wasn't much out there this year.

That other site sure seemed to have a lot of updates on recruits after their visits. Wonder why recruits would talk to them but not gates or wallace?

Wow. You pick this thread to be a Jackass? You're a piece of work, 34. You've been grumpy ever since Coach Snyder called you out in a press conference for being an Internet stalker of his players and recruits.

Under "Colombia" or whatever, 34 completely flipped out on ksf. He's not a rebel. He's a loose cannon.

Yeah, he used to be the talk of the team. He added everyone on facebook and chatted with them relentlessly. He's a joke to them. And then LHC called him out.

No offense, but I think they could have got an update on an actual 2013 commit to kstate instead of having an updating a thread of kids who were going D2 and D3 schools. You can't make the excuse the staff usually uses about not having the info, this one is pretty much tee'd up and the most loyal of customers keep asking with nothing being done.

catgolf, you never seem to be happy and seem to know what everyone wants. You should start your own pay-for website since you know exactly what should and shouldn't be done. Let me know when you do it so I can join and be the catgolf douche of your new perfect site. STFU.

Tell me where I'm wrong. Also, I'm not the one who's started 5 different threads on the subject, but of course you won't challenge hatter. Are you too busy sucking up to fitz so you can shill more of your products on this site?

All I'm saying is Willis is a known commit, its not that hard to pick up the phone an update the site on it. I'm sorry I have to be more blunt about it than some people. This is suppose to be the premier recruiting network. Frankly it doesn't matter as much to me because I know he's coming, but it does to a lot of people who like me have been around here for a long time.

And please give me examples of how I'm never happy. Thanks buddy.

Signing Day for 2012 is hardly more than 24 hours old and already we've got a thread like this going? Like always, when you all demand it (as if our site is slacking in comparison to the rest of the Rivals network) I'm sure Gates and I will come up with some sort of update. But c'mon guys. Give us at least a week or two. Recruiting isn't the only part of our jobs.
And as for the comment on the thread I had running pre-signing day, implying nobody cared about some worthless D2 & D3 prospects, I wouldn't have started it if subscribers hadn't started numerous other threads the weekend prior begging for info on where guys like Decker, J.Washington, and McMakin were headed. I did my best to go above and beyond so y'all didn't have to sift through countless threads trying to find info on in-state guys. It's not my fault they ended up where they did; I was just reporting what I gathered. Sorry if that wasn't what you were looking for, but the day before signing day for 2012, I'll be damned if I'm writing an article on a kid for 2013, who regardless of whether he's committed or not, won't be able to sign for another year to the day. Give me a break.
