No chance. It was less than a year ago that he lost 8 scholarship players. Very few high major schools, especially a program as good as OU, needs to take that gamble. They are a very good program that actually doesn't care enough about basketball to deal with the rightful PR hit.

Gregg will need to go to a real low major or even a juco for his next job. His issue was way too high profile for anyone to touch him anytime soon.

All of the high major programs in mid major conferences do. Houston is a little different because the other schools like this; Wichita State, Gonzaga, Villanova, Marquette, etc. either don't have football at all or don't have FBS football. However, there are a couple of families around Houston athletics that aren't at all shy about spending a crap ton of money on sports. They have a couple of families like the Koch's in Wichita.

They do spend plenty but those private schools go the extra mile. I haven't checked in a couple of years but at one time Marquette spent more money on basketball than any other school in the country, Creighton was like 3rd or 4th.

He sure won't, he had a much better chance of it if Self went back to Oklahoma State while Turgeon was still at Wichita State. He hasn't been nearly successful enough at Maryland to be a viable candidate at OU, he certainly wouldn't be at KU.

I think that list is super lazy, it's just people with either OU or Big 12 ties. It's like the author got that list straight from soonerfans. I do think Mills and McCasland will be candidates but they aren't at the top of the list. Mills has never finished better fourth in the Summit League and McCasland only one the Sun Belt once and that was last year, they slid back this year.

Those hires would be just worse than Otzelberger.

I didn't realize that Lon's kid got the UNLV job. Lon is moving back to Vegas. UNLV might have the best unpaid assistant OAT.

I, like most of us, really like UT but this was a great move by Shaka. He'll do well in the Big East. This is the best case scenario for a coach looking to do a job reset.
