I will say that I didn't know he's a UT alum. Since he left Austin in 1995 here are the places he's worked and lived
San Antonio
Abilene, TX
Denton
Fort Scott
Seminole, OK
Lubbock
Myrtle Beach
Abilene again
San Angelo, TX
Little Rock
Lubbock again
I think it's safe to say he doesn't care. He's a final four coach, he's had chances to go to live somewhere that's perceived to be cooler than Lubbock.

I didn't realize that Lon's kid got the UNLV job. Lon is moving back to Vegas. UNLV might have the best unpaid assistant OAT.

His kid looks 50 but is 37 it’s pretty wild

Much less effort required to recruit to UT.

Again, I didn't know he's a UT alum but he had top 10 classes in 20, 19, 18 ( I cant tell before 18 because rivals website is being a bitch right now) and each of those classes were ranked higher than UTs class. The only reason his '21 class is low is because he's only gotten one commitment, but that one is a 4 star.

If he goes there it's only because he wants to go home. He has made Tech the better program in every single way. It's very possible he's getting more support at Tech than Shaka or Barnes got. Hell, Tech has the second biggest arena in the conference, UT will have the second smallest when their new arena is done.

I guess they could, but they've never committed anything like that to even a football coach. They didn't go and throw say no money at a football coach, you think they are going to give him 3 million more dollars a year than what Bill Self makes while moving into an arena that has a capacity under 10,000?

We can keep ignoring the fact that he's treated like a king at Tech, I won't. Texas is so far away from committing to basketball like Tech has, it isn't likely that they can or will make up the gap in financial commitment right now. Wouldn't it be just as silly to think that OSU would give Bill Self $10 million?

They've literally not done that in our lifetime for any football or basketball coach. The most high profile coach they've ever hired was Mack and he was running the 3rd or 4th best program in the ACC when they got him.

I've been reading a few UT message boards and they don't seem to think Texas can get Beard either. Royal Ivey seems to be a pretty poplar pick. I had no idea he's coaching for the Nets.

The most interesting name I've seen, but there's no way he's getting that job is Jerrance Howard.

They also seem to like Brad a lot but I put him in the same category as beard.
