Anyone else kinda 'meh' about Bracketology before March?  I mean, is it just about talkin' hoops teams with your buds and flexing knowledge about your divers insights into teams across the country?

Yeah kinda like BCS rankings WERE  After the top 5-10 teams I don't really care.

Does anyone know what the percentage arc of accuracy there is on bracketology as the season progresses? I feel like Lunardi is like a weatherman that is only allowed to predict the weather by standing on his front porch.

Bracketologies are about as relevant as polls in college basketball. They're just a way to gauge where teams are at the moment they're released. Other than their preseason brackets, I don't think guys like Lunardi, Palm, etc have ever claimed they were trying to predict where teams would end up in mid-March.

Makes sense.  Still a nice little paycheck to solely put out brackets for a living.

Mel Kiper does triple the work Brad Edwards and Joey Brackets do combined.

If he were really that great at what he does he'd be a GM, not a talking head on ESPN.

LOL do not want to play Iowa as a #5 seed, not because they are good, but because that would suck for the state.

Have you watched a big 10 game lately? Would take, if I were a flood aggie.

It would be easy compared to the big 12, but it would suck.

are you saying that a 2 seed would beat a 10 seed? or that some how oscar can't coach against izzo?  because oscar is 8-8 against him.  or was it just a shitty post?

So with us falling to 5-4 and some people getting a little worried about our seeding and these next few games.....  Here is a breakdown of the some of the teams around us.   The seeding is how I see it as of right now, but you can at least compare the teams in and around the 7-10 range

Our 2 negative areas are our non con SOS  is over 100 and we have 2 bad losses, although the loss to No.Col was without 2 key players and the committee will be aware of that.  The good thing is the Big 12 is so strong, our overall SOS will continue to get better and could be top 25 by seasons end.

Team/Seed    Record (Conf)   RPI     SOS    1-25    26-50      Other stat/comment
______________________________________________________________________________________________
7 UConn         17-4 (5-3)       32       75      1-0      2-3         Good win vs Fla
7 UMass         17-4 (4-3)       11       30       0-0     3-1         Good non-con SOS, 20
7 Pitt              18-4 (6-3)      18       55       0-3      1-0         No wins vs tourney teams
7 Gonzaga      19-3 (10-1)     26      105      0-0      1-1         No wins vs tourney teams

8 N Carolina    14-7(4-4)       39       18       2-3       1-0        Won at Mich St, Beat UK,Lville
8 K-State        15-7(5-4)       41       44       2-3       2-0        4 wins vs top 35
8 N Mexico      17-4(8-1)       33       71       1-2       0-0        Beat Cincy, Good non SOS 17
8 VCU             18-4(6-1)       28       91       1-0       0-2        Only solid win is at Virg

9 Minn            14-7(4-5)       35        5        2-3       1-1         Top 5 SOS
9 G Wash        17-4(5-2)       31       101     1-0       1-1        Weak non-con SOS 159, Beat Creighton
9 Cal              15-7(6-3)       40        48      1-3       2-0         Big win over AZ
9 Ohio St        17-5(4-5)       19        13      1-1       0-2        Good SOS, but Wisc only decent win

10 Colorado    16-6(5-4)       25         7       1-3       1-1         Only 2-3 since losing leading scorer for season
10 Xavier        15-6(5-3)       48       57       1-1       1-3
10 Prov           16-6(6-3)      37        62       1-3       1-0
10 Tenn          13-7(5-3)      42        12       1-3       1-1

For those of you who don't know..... Jerry Palm is way more of an idiot that Joey Brackets.   He had Ohio St as an 11 seed and they won at Wiscy (a team that has lost 5 of 6) and he moved them up 5 spots to a 6 seed.     Seriously??

And then with Baylor being a 9 seed when they are 2-6 in conf.     I know the conf season is not over yet, but it is hard to make the dance when you are 2 games below .500 and I think I read there has only been 1 team to ever be 4 games under and sneak in.   Baylor has an uphill climb to get to 8-10, and even then there is no guarantee that record gets them in.
