They'll use two shades of cardboard, too.

You only poor hot oil out of one of them and that requires a special material to hold up over time. They don't make that material in the same shade as the rest of the castle limestone.

The Ath Dept needs to hurry up and post another photo gallery update.  It's been a few weeks since the last one...

Here's a quick collection that shows some of the progress that has been made over the last few months.

Now we know why the UT crowds are always so quiet. They are terrified of the trees they have to walk past when they enter their stadium.

Can you imagine how much shittier that place would look if it were just a vast cement wasteland?

Their stadium is home to bats during the fall....they probably would have less of a vermin problem without those trees.

Belvis, how did the walking go?  That must have been really difficult with all of the trees.

Well, 'nightmarish' would be putting it lightly.  For starters, campus is full of trees.  Complete clusterfuck.  Then, after navigating through acres of an arborists he'll, you finally get to the stadium.  But, there's no way to enter the thing.  Trunks are too thick.  Only one treeless entrance on SW corner.  All 100k fans enter here.  Rest of stadium is basically a ghost town.  Great traffic and parking situation though.

All in all, really nice place.  Minus the trees of course.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixth_Street_(Austin,_Texas)
Quote
Sixth Street is a historic street and entertainment district in Austin, Texas. It is located within the city's urban core in Downtown Austin.  Sixth Street was formerly named Pecan Street under Austin's older naming convention, which had east-west streets named after trees and north-south streets named after Texas rivers (the latter convention remains in place).

These arboreal pests have even driven the Austinites to removing their names from the streets in favor of a plain old serial numbering system.

guy who emailed me says the suites facing the field in the new condo/hotel complex adjacent to the stadium are already presold.  says it is close to being consummated but final decision not made yet.  most likely to be managed by a company i.e. Marriot, etc.

Yes, I can imagine that.  But, it still sounds more improbable than capturing an Equatorian three-toed sloth or building a limestone wall with a quarry nearby full of native limestone.

Looks like we've got some more CTR ownage here, folks.  This time a good ol fashioned ass kicking in the massive traffic flow problems department.

Unfortunately for the dumbasses in Austin, there obviously aren't very many smart people that know how to make informed decisions.

How many pedestrian death's do you think those tree's cause every year at UT?

Oh, and I think it's A&M's stadium that hosts the bats.

It's a bridge in Austin that has bats.

I hate mosquitoes. Bats eat mosquitoes, like lots of them. I love bats.
