Also, this entire thread is about a bunch of tucks being butthurt that Currie didn't hire a local firm and chose to go with a firm with SEC ties. It simply doesn't get much more traded than that.

Some interesting stuff in there. Honestly, I felt like the TTech project was one of the worst facilities in their portfolio. The neoclassical look is horrible. Looks like somethig you'd see waling down the Vegas strip.

Would much rather have a modern structure akin to the basketball facility. A lot of glass, steel, and limestone.

I hope they don't just put Hale Library on the west side of the stadium.

have you guys ever seen one of those houses made of dirt? like the Pueblo's lived in.

i hope they go that route. the cost savings we'd realize over a steel build would make it worth considering.

Maybe it's naive, but I'm going to remain optimistic that KSU will dictate the outside appearance/aesthetics (complete with glass/steel/limestone,) and that Heery will be leaned on for interior features/layout.

That was a pretty impressive portfolio.

They did Autzen, and I think that's one of the coolest looking stadiums out there. Same with the Seahawks stadium.

This is a good hire. It doesn't surprise me at all that they went with this group if they did the TTech renovation. My guess is that Tech recommended them and since they're pretty close to what we want to do, and he took donors to go see their stuff, that we'd go with that group. It makes sense.

However, looking at that portfolio, my expectations may end up being higher than they should be, but who knows? It may end up looking great.

Yeah, not really how it works. Heery/AECOM will design the interior and exterior. Obviously, the client will have influence, to a degree.

can't fault those guys for shitty clients. I bet if you ask those shitty clients if they got what they wanted (aesthetically), they would say yes. Like most firms, I'm sure EB just pads their portfolio with work they've done for tasteless, shitty clients so they can get more work so they can stay open.

For 75-100M, your expectations should be high. And this project should end up looking great. If not, this project will be a failure. With how much money we're spending, KSU should have an elite, worldclass facility. Time will tell if AECOM/Heery can deliver what Populous would have. I really hope we're not kicking ourselves in 2 years.
