Leavitt is at least a proven coach from a BCS program.  Sean isn't going to happen, chicken little.  And Rich Rod and Leach?  You really think RR goes from UM to KSU?  And I just don't see Leach taking the job either.  Just my opinion dudes.

Leach was practically begging for the Minnesota job (pretty equivalent to KSU), and there weren't any BCS programs knocking on Rich Rod's door last offseason. Nobody at Michigan's level is going to interview Rich Rod after his performance there. He's going to have to take a step down, and the timing would be perfect.

And if they came to KSU, they would be out of here quicker than Bob Huggins. And I believe Huggins genuinely liked KSU/MHK.

And KSU would be a much more desirable job for the next coaching hire.

Seriously, how can you use what's happened to the basketball program post-Huggins as a reason not to hire a coach that might leave soon?

Yeah, but you're also the guy who thinks the crap-smear turf behind the end zones looks good.

Never said it looked good.  Just that it wasn't that bad. And it is certainly better than the asphalt.

I honestly don't think it does.  Never thought I would say that about the ZOD.

They should just spray paint the ZOD turf purple or white. It would be better than the green that doesn't match the rest of the field.

I don't think KSU is on par with Minnesota.  50,000 students, only D1 school in the state, beautiful brand new stadium.  And we heard rumors about Leach wanting every open job.  I have no idea how much was factual.

You can't be afraid of a coach saying "no". Leach is the absolute best case scenario. KSU is absolutely on par with the head coaching job for the Minnesota Gophers. It's not exactly a high bar we're talking about here.

No one said we didn't ask.  It's possible that we reached out and were rebuffed.  Who knows.  I would imagine numerous schools have sought ML and RR's services but I haven't heard crap lately.

He already proved he can't do it again when he failed to fire the dead weight at the end of his last go.
Why were they dead weight? Could they not coach? Could they not recruit?  A couple of them went other places and were considered very solid coaches/recruiters.  Most of them, except Cosh, seem to be doing a better job this time around and even Cosh should be cut some very small slack due to the dearth of talent on the defensive side of the ball that Prince/Tibesar left him with.  What has changed for these guys from 2000-2005 to now?  One big factor not to overlook is AA cancelling out the effects of the KU Chancellor dickhead's corporate jet rule.

Because mediocrity is a step up - you see improvement.  Everyone else realizes this is OBZ ceiling with this staff - but you still think he's infallible.
Never said OBZ was infallible. Just that as long as he is improving the program, I'll be happy with him as a coach. If all we achieve is medocrity, I'll be all for a change.  I fully expect OBZ and this staff to be consistently competitive with EVERYBODY in the Texas 10 and to have a shot to win the league in years where the schedule is favorable with respect to when and where games against the toughest teams are.  OBZ has proven that he can out coach every single coach in this league.  Get the roster back to having 2 to 3 deep with D1 talent at every position, and I like our chances against the the annual recruiting champions.

Also, LOVING the misconception that everyone that thinks OBZ should retire/leave/be fired is a 15-20 year old kid that "sags"
Is this any different than the misconception that everyone that supports OBZ is a TUCK and a ford driving, bluetooth wearing, jort (whatever that is) loving, douche.  Jesus some people need to think before they post.

Truth!!  And would not take either.

This is the only page of the thread I have viewed, and I stopped after reading this dumbassness.  I hope it is sarcasm, but I can't bring myself to looking at other pages to find out after reading this.

However, I also know some legitimate donors that literally think LHC Bill Snyder can do no wrong, and think this program will be just fine as long as he's here. Disagree all you want, but they are out there and I know they are most likely in the minority...........

Why shouldn't they?  If you were a KSU fan that went to games up to 1988 and then watched what he did, he should be given a chance until he proves he can't do it again.  And so far in this iteration, there has been steady improvement and I see nothing that shows that "OB" won't be able to get the program back to being a regular member of the top 25.  Will it definitely happen and will we be fine as long as HCBS is in charge?  Who know? But I know he is proving he deserves the chance to make it happen and you "boxer butts" (wears jeans/pants/shorts so low down their ass their boxers show) should lighten up and drop the severe criticism.  And as far as being a minority, I bet there are more EMAWs that share this opinion than there are EMAW boxer butts.

Damn I hate it when I can't tell if a post is serious or completely sarcastic.

eff dude, I don't know.  But they were/are dead-weight aside from maybe 2 guys.  One thing you're overlooking is how rough ridin' lucky we were that every school we played against didn't run the ball every snap.   The fact that KSU won more than 5 games is a miracle.  I've made a conscious decision to consider the ineptitude in competition when determining KSU's staff.  Just because we played a host of idiots last year doesn't mean our own staff isn't filled with washed up has been & never was'.    3 more schools we beat realize how pathetic our D is and you'd be defending OBZ saying the legend deserves a chance to show improvement.

Pretty sure I know how it's going to look in HD: more pronounced, and therefore, more terrible than it did when I saw it in person.

Not much of a search needed after we got Patterson.  As far as wasting time now, this program isn't exactly a coaching mecca.  I'm giving Snyds another year and I think it will be a good one.  I had mentioned (in a different thread) that I want 8 wins this year.  6 or 7 wins and Cosh absolutely has to go.  Anything less and we should just implode the thing and see if we're able to land some sort of decent coach.

I'm just pissed that Rich Rod and Mike Leach are both available and possibly obtainable, and we won't even sniff either of them because Bill doesn't think the waters are calm enough. We will end up with somebody like Jim Leavitt at best and Sean Snyder at worst.
Well, when your team gets gang raped on defense, a defensive mind seems the most attractive as a HC hire.  Am I sick to believe that Leavitt would actually be a pretty good hire for us?

To summarize:

Five pages of good posters having a good debate.  One dude gets mad about the phrase "tucks" mainly because he himself doesn't understand what a tuck is.  This leads to a couple of real life tucks being empowered to derail the conversation with 8-4 talk and thoughts that KSU has no real shot at a good, quality long term solution for a head coach.  Meanwhile these ticks are being enabled by others who can't ignore their stupidity.

Can the mods just move the last two pages into its on thread?  Call it outed squaks vs. proud tucks.
