This IS their idea of a "re-brand", unfortunately.

The incredible thing is we have a University president that has been harping about elevating the brand for over a year. So, we go out and hire an independent branding agency to conduct a study, establish multiple focus groups, conduct an internal audit that identified no less than 30 different university identity marks being used, and the clear outcome is that there is basically no consistency or universal brand identity for the school.

So, what do we do, create yet another University brand mark completely inconsistent with our most publically visible brand identity for athletics, refer to the school in different nomenclature graphically represented in a totally inconsistent type treatment.

Absurd.

I would vote for ditching the end zone powercats ahead of the number change. I'm getting tired of Serpentine, to be honest. (Not that it still isn't light years ahead of Georgia or whatever that standard serif numbering is.)

KStateO demands that things like endzones are completely used.

Also don't understand the branding situation . . . but am glad they didn't spend hundreds of thousands of dollars only to copy a small state school 1000 miles away.

The turf will run all the way up to the stands beyond each endzone to cover up the asphalt at each end. However, everything will remain the same along the sidelines.

Some of the Powertards were saying there's no way this would happen because of KStateO Harley Day. Just a little note to those folks, large equipment is used to groom the turf all the time . . . it's OKAY.

Overall really like the field, but it seems kinda pointless to highlight the 20-yard line. The "red zone" is just a stupid TV color guy talking-point. Whatevs.

If we have to abandon harley day for this new field I guess I'm ok with it. will also have to get rid of ft. riley and band day too. it's going to be tough but i guess what has to be done has to be done.
