K-State is installing new AstroTurf. Will be the only FBS school with this particular variety. (GameDay Grass 3D60H, for the turf experts.)

GameDay Grass is starting to take a bite out of Field Turf.   The AstroTurf company was down and out a few years ago, now they're roaring back.   You can still buy a version of the original AstroTurf, AstroTurf 12, thankfully OB didn't pick that because it's pretty much only used on field hockey fields now.

It's also been installed on a number of college football practice fields, some smaller colleges already have it in their stadiums as well as high schools . . . and if anyone was wondering smaller colleges and high schools were the early adapters with Field Turf several years before any D1 schools or NFL teams even considered it.

On the new field, both end zones will be purple, but still feature the Powercat. The Wildcat logo will still be purple and at the 50-yard line.

Both sidelines will have "Kansas State University" on one end of the field and the Wildcat logo on the other, both in white.

Caught a glimpse of the paint design on K-State's new football turf. If you liked the end zone at the Pinstripe Bowl, you will like this.

Jesus Christ.  The no glare is all right but fellas, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays' field looks like complete crap and always has.  Not impressed with the TWA Dome turf either.  Green looks like complete crap on both.  Wanted something darker like they have at uk's track and field and football stadium.

Srsly.  Try to tell me this field doesn't look like crap.
