Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.
NO . . . OB Wins again.

look, a paltry $500k is nothing more than a symbolic show of support from SGA to our AD.
currie and the AD would be fine without it.  but what kind of message does it send if they cut it off?  currie has done a lot to improve the fan experience and although the students also support the AD through ticket fees, what's an extra $20 per student in student fees if it means strengthening the relationship between the student body and our AD?

I thought the goal was to have the ad be 100 percent self funded. Do these student fees count?

The goal is not to use University funds. Student fees go directly from the students to the Ath Dept. A University subsidy comes from the University's general fund. K-State no longer has that subsidy. Compare to Cincinnati (to pick a random example) which has total revenue of $59.1 million, of which $27.1 million is a subsidy from the University, or about 46% of their total budget.

Thanks

Who has that link to the interactive guide to the inside of the stadium?  I was looking, but couldn't find.  Want to see if my seats on Saturday are gonna suck or not.

Unless you're in one of the endzones, I'm pretty sure your seats won't suck.

I think that if the AD is making $5 million profits, they aren't spending enough and they don't need the $500k from the students.
i haven't caught up itt, but I think a key difference is that student tix can/do(?) sell out. Meaning we know not all students who pay the fee have an opportunity to benefit from it but make all pay for it. While all students have access to the rec or tutoring. There may be other things that fall into that category though.

i'd be okay with them designing something specific for the band in the NE corner, but I think Bill likes the band and the students behind the other team just to annoy them mostly. Band is louder than students at times and probably way more annoying.  He moved the visitor team over to the east side when I was in school just for that reason.  You can tune out annoying fans but the screech of horns is pretty hard to ignore.  If it is about money than you sell those 50 yard line seats for what you sell the west side for.  Then we become like everyone else and I don't think anyone wants that.
i would think the sun would be most annoying which would be good motivation to put visitors on east side just like about every other football program in the country does.

As info, shortly after the Big 12 was formed, the league changed its rules that did not allow the visitors to be on the sideline facing the sun. As soon as the rules were changed, HCBS switched sidelines to put the visitors in the sun. Having the students and band behind the visitors bench is just a happy coincidence.

The new NEZ seats are actually pretty badass. They are really close to the field and quite vertical for a really neat vantage point. Seating around the south bowl is not great, but better than that GA section at the NE corner that's going by-by after this season. That's the worst spot.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

So how much (if any) has been revealed/leaked about future specifics on the SEZ?

Also let's revisit the West Side Castle. Two seasons in, have you heard any grumblings from people who use it during the games about any drawbacks? Seems like I've only heard positives but I don't know the building really at all from the inside. Same with Vanier. Hungry for some insider'y opinions and/or anecdotes that we might not have heard yet.

Re bankers and lawyers, derided yes. Butthurt no. Making bank so why care? But I'd probably add anything unionized to the list.

Anyway, BSFS is just getting awesomer season after season. Haven't even finalized plans for the corner and I'm already thinking ahead to the SEZ. Blessed.

Why are we arguing about where the band should go? It's already been decided. They have designed the NE corner specifically to hold the band, deeper seats, special access to the field, going so far as having an acoustics engineering firm design the angle of the concrete walls to project the sound. The people in 425 will hear the band.

Currie doesn't strike me as a guy who would invest that much money into full design hoping that he can get permission to move the band. The band is moving to the Suddler Corner. They've backed off announcing so it doesn't seem like a punishment. In fact it's the opposite. No other band in the country has been thought of in such a way and had their portion of the stadium specifically designed for them.

Hopefully it won't always be the case, but the Sudler is going to be the only national championship hanging in BSFS.

ICAT sells out every year, but I don't think they've ever sold out of GA student tickets. However, they did deny entry at a few basketball games back in the Martin era due to being over capacity.
