Meh, at the end of the day, the only "ornamental" thing I really want to see get done is the wall. If getting the wall means no major landscaping for awhile, I don't care. The only people who see or not see landscaping are the people who visit the stadium, but everyone in the stadium, and everyone on TV see's the wall at some point in time. Almost all the pictures on the Internet from official sources are from inside the stadium.
If getting the new weightroom and recruiting center means the wall gets delayed, I'm okay with that as well.
I know that we fans like to complain about things like trees and a limestone wall, but I think these two items are BY FAR the most important things on our to-do list.
If we don't upgrade the facilities for our student athletes and recruits, we are going to be in a world of hurt. HCBS is doing a great job of getting the most out of some lightly recruited 3-star kids. It is extremely unlikely that the next coach will be as good at that as he is. The next coach is going to need to recruit at a higher level than HCBS, and to do that we are going to have to upgrade our facilities.
Ideally, I'd like to see a brand new Vanier complex but I recognize that is unlikely. The next best thing is to build the new weightroom in the NW corner of the stadium. Then renovate inside Vanier where the existing weightroom is so that we can expand the lockerroom and player's lounge. We need to upgrade the team meeting rooms and film rooms as well. And we need to build the recruiting center at the south end of the WSC.
Cosmetic things like a limestone wall, turf that extends all the way to the edge of the stadium and trees outside the stadium can wait.
