Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.
NO . . . OB Wins again.

East side is getting resurfaced this summer.

Yes.  100% asphalt?  Or some green space?

I'm afraid I already know the answer.

Also, really wish I could go back and not use the word "nightmare"  :frown:

yes. that was unfortunate for you. also, there's a rumor going around that there won't be beer this fall. thoughts?

Won't be beer at football? They said very specifically there were no plans to have beer in BSFS or in Bramlage, that it was a baseball only test program.

yes. common thought was that it was a test program and if the test went well, they'd extend it to football this fall. that doesn't seem to be the case though.

They specifically said it wasn't even on the table for discussion. No idea if that will always be the case.

This summer will be asphalt. Landscaping on both lots would be next summer at the earliest.

of course it wasn't on the table. they had to test it first (baseball) and then they'd put it on the table and discuss it or else why have a test in the first place? like, isn't the point of a test program to see how it works and then use that information for future decision making, with one of those hypothetical future decisions to be whether or not to sell booze to the masses at fball games? it just doesn't sound like there is even a .01% chance that it's happening this fall is what i'm saying. sheesh.

The pilot program I would imagine is to see if there would permanently be beer at Tointon, not to test if there would be beer everywhere.

Info from Tointon would be of value if/when beer at other venues is ever discussed, which I have no idea if/when that would happen.

well it's sure good to see that we are in complete agreement on everything, because it almost felt like you were being argumentative for a while. also, sorry again about the whole nightmare quote fiasco. truth be told, even the best around here like myself sometimes let one get away from us. it happens.

Seems like poor timing.  What better time to landscape than this summer, when the entire lot will be redone?

I know this is not a main priority with the vegetation disputes and WSC construction but is there any timeline for phase 5 or will that depend on the success of the team and ticket demands?

I have a dream of 60,000 seat super delux BSFS sometime in my life and would like to keep it alive.

Ideally, yes, would be better to do them both simultaneously. But landscaping is not definite for next summer, so I'd guess they felt like they needed to proceed with resurfacing (the east lot is in pretty poor shape, lots of potholes and big cracks).

No idea. My guess is that they would like to get in a schedule of doing some sort of improvements each offseason. I don't think that means a full "phase" each offseason.

They were wanting to resurface the East lot prior to 2012-2013 season.  Since the BTF was delayed in finishing, they only had time to patch.

Still seems like if there was going to ever be landscaping done on that side they'd find a way to shoehorn it in now, right? Any LArch d00dz on this blog care to weigh in?

Meh, at the end of the day, the only "ornamental"  thing I really want to see get done is the wall.   If getting the wall means no major landscaping for awhile, I don't care.   The only people who see or not see landscaping are the people who visit the stadium, but everyone in the stadium, and everyone on TV see's the wall at some point in time.   Almost all the pictures on the Internet from official sources are from inside the stadium.

If getting the new weightroom and recruiting center means the wall gets delayed, I'm okay with that as well.

I know that we fans like to complain about things like trees and a limestone wall, but I think these two items are BY FAR the most important things on our to-do list.

If we don't upgrade the facilities for our student athletes and recruits, we are going to be in a world of hurt. HCBS is doing a great job of getting the most out of some lightly recruited 3-star kids.  It is extremely unlikely that the next coach will be as good at that as he is.  The next coach is going to need to recruit at a higher level than HCBS, and to do that we are going to have to upgrade our facilities.

Ideally, I'd like to see a brand new Vanier complex but I recognize that is unlikely.  The next best thing is to build the new weightroom in the NW corner of the stadium.  Then renovate inside Vanier where the existing weightroom is so that we can expand the lockerroom and player's lounge.  We need to upgrade the team meeting rooms and film rooms as well.  And we need to build the recruiting center at the south end of the WSC.

Cosmetic things like a limestone wall, turf that extends all the way to the edge of the stadium and trees outside the stadium can wait.

How long before EA Sports starts using that as the nickname for BSFS?
