Yeah, just seems like more would have happened by now if the full-blown announcement was going to come in two weeks. Maybe they're just amazing at keeping secrets tho.

My hunch is still that we will have an announcement at the pep rally. Design work was commissioned months ago. What I saw looked polished. The bowl game is the perfect time to present it.

If we do not get an announcement, I would be concerned that there is a serious impediment to the project (weak fundraising, the old Vanier follies, etc.). Good news is we're only two weeks away from finding out.

Wonder if funding source impacts the decision.  Like, if Vanier2.0 is going to be privately funded, unlike the WSC, maybe that mitigates the need for a large public unveiling.  When/how did they announce the BBTF?  Obviously, they eventually released all of the renderings, but IIRC, it was a bit later in the process.

I doubt that the source makes a difference, unless your primary donors want the project to remain confidential for some unlikely reason. I would think that as long as it looks like you've got a decent chance of raising the funds, you unveil it at the soonest big opportunity - like a pre-bowl pep rally. Gins up excitement among fans, current and prospective ticket holders, recruits, etc.

The BTF was unveiled in Bramlage during the "Madness in Manhattan" event (or whatever it was called). That would have probably been in October before Jake's senior year.

I apologize if Luked, but I scanned most posts over the last 10 hours and didn't see any discussion of this little nugget.

During BITB's monologue today, Keitz made mention if ADJC's new contract, raise, etc. while spending most of the discussion blowing hot air up ADJC's ass, he started talking about facilities.  He made a good point that ADJC was building facilities not because LHCBS wants/needs them, but instead that he is positioning K-State to attract the next coach. (Completely agree with this and love the fact that it points towards not automatically promoting an internal candidate).

But then he went on to say that next up was a North end zone renovation as well as a new practice facility across Kimball linked by bridge to current Vanier.  He didn't any good specifics but he stated this, not as rumor, but as cold, hard fact almost like he's seen something.

I know, I know...this is what BITB does to make himself BITB. But when it comes down to,it, he is pretty well connected at the KSU AD and may not be completely full of crap this time.

Do you mean in the way that it's connected to the rest of the stadium or the way that they have two jumbotrons? Or both?

Also that end zone is curved. Is ours going to be curved? Hope not, because the rest of our stadium is straight lines and continuity is best. That being said, I think Spartan Stadium is p. cool.

I've only heard discussion re 1 big video board in middle, not two in the corners, but my info is pretty old. I'm in same boat as you all hoping for a big announcement Friday.
