and some of you refer to the other site as 'tards. haruumph! You should have zero concerns about recruiting at the moment. Defense is the side of the ball to watch with some anxiety this recruiting season but we're in great position with a number of kids. BTW, even if we don't land your own personal favorite then why freak out? Let me give you an example as to how Snyder's staff operates:Two juco DE prospects:1) Chris Martin - CCSF. Kid was 5 star everything in high school. He's even rated as a 4 star now at the moment though big programs are not getting in line to sign him. He's been contacted a number of times by GPC since last summer and states KSU has mild interest. He has said many times he "wishes" KSU would recruit him. He had 4.5 sacks this season and I'm kind of meh about his video on hudl. Plays high, likely takes plays off....oh, he's definitely a talent but a high risk/reward type IMO. Guess who wants him? KU.2) Arnold Blackmon - Navarro. He's mister no star and only 6'1 ish and 235ish. Only a few offers from mid-major type programs. But guess what? Kid makes play after play after play. Non-stop motor, uses his hands, plays at a great heigh level. Guess who just offered Blackmon? KSU.Two examples. Tards will look at the two and see a 4 star vs. a 2 star and think the failure was on KSU's part. Then both show up at their respective campuses. Adam Davis wasn't all that flashy for us this year but he is what the coaches want...an every down effort player who is reliable. Get some playmakers at a few other positions to surround him and snap, another double digit win season and a championship. For the record, would I like to see KSU sign a few more highly ranked kids? Sure. Does that necessarily translate to wins? Hell no.

Do we just not even try?

Academics is a stupid word.Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not. So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.
From Nick Marshall's twitter account regarding possible future schools:"Kansas state Indiana Texas Texas tech Colorado Florida international Auburn an yea I'm playing QB this time"
Rodriguez Coleman ?@RespectMe_FaFDam I'm really conversating wit the legend Charlie weis!!!!
as a complete stud message boarder myself (ksufans, goEMAW, it goes on) I agree with you troubledscribe, but he's doing something right because he's out recruiting the crap out of us (along with everyone else)

I give more credit to our coaches being complete eff ups than I do to Weis being awesome. It's watching special olympians try to compete in the real olympics.
I had an interesting conversation with an athletic trainer the other day. We were talking about how in this day and age the separation between the big time recruits and the five heart guys is smaller than ever due to the huge amount of advances in athletic training programs/nutrition/etc. It's much easier to turn a 2 star into a 3 and a 3 into a 4 from an athletic ability standpoint. For this reason BS's recruiting philosophy of focusing on player development over recruiting rankings actually works better than ever.Thought that was very interesting.
