My gut says that Barry sticks and Robinson flips to us... Maybe I'm wrong and meow meow will have a big ole pity party when our class stays as is and we fill holes with some DITR's, but my hunch is that we are gonna be pleasantly surprised at the dividends the new (palacial) Vanier starts paying with this recruiting class.

I'm personally amazed that Manhatter can pull so much quality analysis from watching hilight footage of players.  It speaks to how much more he "gets" sports and being an athlete than the rest of you puds.  He's definitely earned the right to talk down to everyone who disagrees with him, because he told us he's almost always right on his projections.

Now all we have to do is sit back and watch Trey Dish"own"  the hatter haters.

The only highlight I saw was Dish dunking that basketball, yet I can tell you that Manhatter is a whole lot closer to the truth about this kid than all of the clowns badmouthing him.

well fvck me for having a mind and deciding to withhold trashing a kid until I actually watch some film, process it, and make a decision on my own.

I could always be the cool crowd...it's a robotic, programmed response:

=IF(AND(AND(B1="Kansas State",OR(C1="Offered",C1="Committed")),OR(B2:B10,="",AND(B2:B10<>"",C2:C10="")),A1,"<3 stars"),"Terrible","Good")
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Which is the better barometer for determining the talent of a high school player?

A) The number and quality of offers he has from some of the finest football minds in the country

B) Some guy that posts at gopowercat.com and gets upset when you don't agree with him

yep, a week until signing day, and all these schools just missed on this kid.  interestingly enough, a school of similar size only a few miles away, Hiawatha, had a kid that many schools were able to find not that long ago.  so how did all these schools miss this kid that is 300 lbs and can dunk a basketball with ease and hurdle defenders?  maybe it's because all of these DT's we are currently recruiting don't want to come here so we are panicking and going to the bottom of our list.  maybe, guys like Mo Latimore just really suck at recruiting DT's that have offers at other places (not MIAA offers).

no, i'm sure we just had a diamond fall into our lap yet again.  i'm sure this Dishon kid can even see the field at some point, assuming Snyder coaches until he's 80.  what's the next coach going to do with this roster full of Kansas try hards?

Recruiting strategy 2015...load up on kids from Kansas and Georgia, brilliant.

Bill is just really good at finding star athletes that other coaches don't recruit. There isn't anything he does when they are here to magically turn them into All Big 12 or NFL talent. Ron Prince wasn't screwed by inheriting Jordy Nelson.

yep, almost forgot every Kansas kid on our roster ends up a Jordy Nelson.  SO BLESSED!

We have another Kansas walk on that will be drafted this year.

2 guys every 7 years....CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!!!!!!!!!

Our walkon program producing All Big 12 athletes and NFL draft picks is a strange thing to melt down about.
Give up on this idiot.  Him and PIPE are two of the dumbest posters on here.  :whistle1:

So, who did we beat out for this kid......Tabor?  :sdeek:  Wonderful......

I am tired of all these great stories about all of our walk-on's from Kansas and their success.  Did anyone notice a difference in athletic ability or speed against UCLA?  What about Oregon?  Ya, our walk-on's really hung tough.  And this guy, with a Bethany offer, is on full ride?  WTF.

I don't know who will die first from old age, Snyder? Mo? Hayes?  JFC, this staff just blows each other.... :flush:

Man, I am in a pissy mood this morning :buh-bye:

I noticed a huge difference in athletic ability when we played Texas. They must be pushing their walk on program, too.
Slam Blam, down for the count!  BTW, great post.

LHC Bill Snyder's recruiting is a classic example of people being much more tolerant of failing the traditional way, rather than succeeding in an unorthodox manner. That's why I stopped following football recruiting. I know that Bill's method works, more or less. It still drives me rough ridin' crazy though, and all I can do is try not to pay attention.

Posts like these are why critical thinking skills are useful in life.

The poster assumes that everyone in A):

1) Either has knowledge of small-town prospect or, at the very least, had knowledge of small-town prospect in time to adjust a list of preferences within the recruited position to offer.

2) Does not have a handful just like him from which to choose.

Poster also assumes K-State head coach is not part of group A.

Let's add to this... Who is likely a better evaluator of talent &/or potential as it relates to Division I football?

A) A legendary, HOF inducted octagenarian.

B) Some dumbass on goEMAW.com

Your formula doesnt work in excel.

Why do you need people to agree with you so badly that you get angry at everyone who doesnt agree with you?

I hope you are right, and he is a good player.  But to others the observable evidence is pointing to our staff being concerned with missing on others.  recruiting is a crapshoot and players don't pan out. But generally speaking, higher rankings mean better players and results.  It's just weird that you get so mad at people disagreeing with your prognostications, which are based on your pseudo expertise.  We dont all need to agree with you, Lighten up man.

guess I forgot I needed to take this thread more seriously.  I will have to increase my intake of high school boys hips/ass film sesh's.

ah, the old hips/ass post.  yep, consider me unfazed.  always have, continue, and will continue to mention hips and asses.  it is a definite gay fetish of mine.  it has nothing to do with athletic traits or movements.  nothing.  all gay, all day.

let me know if you've got something for me.

Yeah, my whole point is that it's apparent our staff is whiffing on DT's (again) and therefore having to reach on prospects.  I'm sure Manhatter is a better high school talent evaluator than me because I don't spend any time watching high school kids film, because I don't care.  What I do care about is the future of the football team, and i'd prefer not leaving the cupboard full of a bunch of players that are reaches for the next coach.
