Zuber has a shot to be pretty good based on some of his athletic attributes.

1) he is loooong.  He has a standing reach of 8' despite being just 6' or even a shade under 6'.  His vertical was tested over 36" so this kid can touch over 11' prior to entering his senior year of high school.  He has a much bigger catch radius than many athletes who are his ht/wt.

2) he is very fluid and smooth.  For being more of a long strider he does have quick feet, sharp breaks, and transitions out of breaks seamlessly.  Typically, kids who are smooth athletes and have good leaping ability are good candidates to add speed and burst through strength training because they have more quick twitch muscle fibers.

3) he catches the ball away from his body.  He already does that regularly so he's ahead of the game.

I really like him.  He isn't terribly explosive on tape but he is faster than you think and has potential to increase it.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

GPC commitment story is equal parts endearing and strange. Committed as soon as offered. Been watching the Cats for 10 years. Was actually playing a video game as K-State when Coleman called with the offer. Would like to visit for Auburn and will work on recruiting other local GA studs in the mean time.

Not sure why this is strange.   I am curious what ties he has to KState.  I guess I'm a closet fan of a few teams because I liked a single player at some time in the past...

A kid in Georgia with no personal ties to the program loving KSU and calling it his dream school is strange, as is his immediate commitment and knowledge of the program's recent history. It's a pleasant surprise.
That's because we're big time.  Now if we could just win us another Big XII title.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

It's really not that weird. If you dorks would have grown up playing NCAA college football on your game systems in college, you'd find weird teams to root for. Logos, unis (they're units are replicas), prestige, atmosphere, etc. Some kids want to be different in their home state. For Christ sakes, my middle school years were in Iowa. He grew up loving the rise of a program. I felt that way about Vtech growing up.

19 bench reps as a junior WR is pretty impressive

Looks like all he did was bench though. Those chicken legs with those bench reps should have any good strength coach salivating at the potential.
for some reason this post just screams phog .net to me

He is 17. If he's truly followed the Cats, he grew up watching Snyder 1 tanking, Prince failing, Snyder 2 going 6-6, and Klein be a stud in 2012. It's weird.

Guys people still commit to Nebraska for crap they did in the 80's, so, like, chill out.  Pop on those shades and deal with it.

You dingbats. Of course it's a little weird that a random kid in Georgia says we are his dream school because of, apparently, video games and stuff. Even Coleman was weirded out at first. It's all good though. 16 year olds can be weird and random sometimes. Go cats. #1cat.

Maybe he's playing us; did he say anything that was really specific about K-State or could that be his boilerplate response to every school that offers him?
