Academics is a stupid word.Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not. So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

He was probably placed by and protected for Ole Miss since he had a strong relationship with them and spent a year out of high school trying to get in or qualify for Ole Miss. Nutt probably strung him along (as he's infamous for...check internet for more on that)..until he landed a few guys (Grant and Pena) that didn't have such issues. That seems to be the speculation.
If it were up to me, Wintz would be on a fan scholarship, full ride.

Bo Tillman has signed his letter with K-State.I have gathered that Auburn made a late push at getting him to visit, but he held strong with his commitment to play for the Cats.
