For bacon, they almost always use “beef bacon” and it’s just pretty much just beef jerky. The fancier places will have Turkey bacon, which is better than “beef bacon”, but yeah not the same. I think it’s the fat content or something? You can’t get a good pepperoni pizza on this side of the world. But that said, there’s always pockets of Filipino restaurants that serve pork if you’re willing to go off the map a bit.

Also, my kids are very normal about hating shots and freaking the eff out. So when they asked why we got vaccines but we didn’t this spring, I told them it was because scientists were still working on “mosquito bite technology” to administer the kids’ shots with special needles designed like mosquito bites that are super sneaky and don’t hurt. I’ve been laying that groundwork for six months, and every time they get a mosquito bite now they’re like “wow that was a great idea, scientists!”

You don’t know if you still have the antibodies. You do know that the vaccine works and is safe. I was in quarantine for like 5 weeks while my entire family got covid. I got tested 7 times. Negative every time. I still got the vaccine as soon as I could, will get the booster as soon as I can, and will put my little girls in a full Nelson to make them get the vaccine once it’s approved for their age later this year.

Hey, BW. Hope it all turns out well. I just got through something similar with my wife and kids. She’s getting her smell and taste back now after about 2 weeks. I cook her foods with a little extra salt and spice, and it seems to help. Kids just had mild cold symptoms. We feel pretty lucky.

Jordan is Iowa State. They’re so optimistic and a little prickly about their status even though they usually don’t accomplish anything, are funded by their regional partners, and the whole place inexplicably floods a few times a year.

Iran is Baylor. They’re just successful/powerful enough to hang around (and have their own unique religious vibe despite being awful), but LOL everyone hates them and wants to kick them out and also they were the cause of the huge COVID outbreak in the region because they tried to cover it up. 1. Egypt constantly refers to itself as “the Mother of the World” and always notes it’s “2,500 years of civilization” or whatever that number is. But it’s a rough ridin' mess and just awful. So, always bringing up the pyramids and still having “sellouts” (overcrowded cities) and also being just shy of a failed state...? Yeah that’s Nebraska. Egypt is definitely the Nebraska of the Middle East.
