95 year old grandma tested positive today. Mildly symptomatic. She’s been in otherwise good health, but the numbers for that demographic are pretty bad. Seemed somewhat inevitable, she lives in a mid-rise independent senior living facility and with community spread being what it is...

Thanks...So far so good! Symptoms fairly mild, signs are good. Very relieved.

a friend of my wife's, a marathon runner, had both parents die and she herself has those ground glass patches in her lungs and still breathes with difficulty.

my dad will be on oxygen the rest of his life. currently 3L at all times. thankfully survived though after two months in ICU. can now walk for 1,000 feet once every other day for PT which is a big improvement. have mentioned this before here but he's a 66 yo cattle rancher and had no other comorbidities. they aren't sure on heart yet.

I'm continually blown away how wildly different this virus affects one person to the next. Glad the old man survived.

all these things suck major bags of balls and male genitals nuts and taint but silver lining is he's still around to be with grandkids and hopefully can recover more as they learn more about this crapface virus. recently read that some of the lingering effects are from the damage that our own body's immune system does to itself as it overextends in reaction to the virus. crazy but am confident that we will beat it and figure out better ways to help those who have been impacted like your pops.

Hey, BW. Hope it all turns out well. I just got through something similar with my wife and kids. She’s getting her smell and taste back now after about 2 weeks. I cook her foods with a little extra salt and spice, and it seems to help. Kids just had mild cold symptoms. We feel pretty lucky.

Both my wife's parents found out they were infected this week. Both got a bamlanivimab infusion - hoping/praying that it helps them recover.

My wife's sense of taste and smell haven't returned (5 weeks after getting infected).

Breakdown of everybody I know well enough who got it and their situation

1 family after a family get together where the mom ran a restaurant and had "allergy" symptoms
2 families after going to a wedding (one after having their own wedding that I skipped and mask wearing looked non existent)
2 families that aren't sure how but all have school aged kids (16 years old) and are also teachers
1 family where the dad went to a prison ministry thing
