I think it takes some degree of mental illness to want to shoot people. Having extreme beliefs definitely is fuel for the fire.

You think every murderer is mentally ill?

No, I think murders that are between people with problems with each other, domestic violence, or gang related incidents are because assholes can't compartmentalize their emotions. But murders from shooting random people in a crowd that the perpetrator doesn't even know, yeah that's mentally ill in my opinion.
