I had to look up if that lagoon is saltwater.  It is.  I don't think she drank it though.  I think she just hadn't shat before going and got there and played around a bunch and decided she was outside and could crap freely.

The beach is made up a bunch of loose rocks like the meat in a nu-way.  I got most of them before the tide (?) suddenly got higher and washed over all of where I still had some fragments to get.

That was awful.

She sidewalk shat walking home from the groomer.  I suppose she was signaling me that something was afoot because she was walking ahead of me and pulling on the leash, but I attributed that to wanting to get home and away from outside that she now associates with rough ridin' firework bomb noises.

Aside from manmade for waste treatment, I'm pretty sure all lagoons are saltwater.

The place I get her artisan food from has dog weed.  The problem I'm having isn't so much during the fireworks themselves, but that now, especially as it turns dark at night, she associates the outside with that fireworks noises could start happening.  She doesn't want to sleep on her bed that's near a usually open window.  I finally got a compromise last night by moving the bed more to the center of the living room.  I guess I can shawshank that thing over a few inches every night until it and her are back where they're supposed to be.

Dogs are stupid (in a good way) and have real short memories. She should forget about all this after a few days. The shawshank idea is spot on for moving the bed back. It's pretty hard to permanently traumatize a dog with just a few days of fireworks. Luckily you don't have to deal with thunder all that much so this trauma of loud noises should not be constantly reinforced.

Cool, the canada trip sounds like a winner though for my sake too.  I will enjoy 3-4 days of fireworks-free, all-i-can-eat 33%-off punifood.

Get her a horse-dog friend

That rough rider is terrifying, also to both of us.

She's still sketched out outside when it gets dark, but I got her to sleep in her usual spot last night.  This is her on the human seating in the dog park refusing to romp around and instead eyeball'n the sky for bombs.

4th of July's on a Wednesday next year.  I'm driving us to Canada that Tuesday afternoon and staying up there until Sunday.
