If you run into MIR and he happened to bring my old loaner phone, get it from him and I'll get it from you when I'm in Wichita.

I don't think I'll be able to start watching the game on TV until late in the 1st half.

The possibility of getting worked by a true freshman QB at Baylor in year 6 of the Snyder return, with recruiting classes that should have been at the soph and junior level coming off the Klein era is . . . sad if it happens.

I think the defense keeps Baylor's scoring reasonable but the offense underperforms.

BU: 31

If he's been cleared for practice, his injury wasn't season ending. I don't think he can get a medical redshirt now. Since he's already played in a couple games, we might as well play him when he becomes available.

However,

I'm not 100% sure I want the nation to see this version of the Wildcats against a Baylor team that just got majorly disrespected by the CFB Playoff Committee.

Ideally ESPN would just show some pre game shots of the crowd and stadium, then they turn it over to FS1 for the game.

Who are the starting corners now? Burns and Shelley?

Baylor has a new starting qb named Garrett McDipshit

however...

K-State generally loses Thursday night home games

however...........

They win one tonight, going away

I've had an epiphany tonigh and realize why we can't recruit. We play the most boring brand of football you could possibly draw up. What rough ridin' young athelete these days (other than KS DITRs) would want to go to a school that has to trick the other team into positive yards every play? We don't even play football anymore. K-State and Snyder's brand of football is hope the other team is out of position and fake the ball right then run left. Just sad.

I envision OBZ, Sean ,and Dimel sitting in a recruit's living room. OBZ has crusty malt-o-meal on his chin and Dimel's pants are unzipped. It pretty much goes down hill from there.

We just have no explosive players on offense. It's hard to call plays for that. Of course, the staff is responsible for recruiting those guys.
more than that tho, its also bad techniques/positioning as well.  it's not just a lack of talent, its players not being taught well.

It's more talent than technique or coaching. I just don't see explosive players in the backfield or at receiver.

Thursday night games are the rough ridin' worst. Especially when most of our fanbase has to travel from out of town. Currie should really do a better job about making sure we don't have these games.

Also, every time we are in these situations, it gives me anxiety because I know we can't come back. We just keep running the same offense that settles with running 6 minutes off of the clock on a drive.

I mean eff, I have no idea how the rest of that last drive would have ended, but I can tell you, we were not going to score. Not with this offensive coordinator and this low talented team. This team is so bad. I almost would take Snyder's first team of his second tenure with Grant Gregory at quarterback over this team.

Just getting settled in from the game

Terrible fan attendance, especially after halftime

What are the thoughts on the replay at the end?  IT MATTERED!!!  But it looked like the first foot came down half in, half out, arguably without control.

Also what did the Baylor guy get ejected for?  The ref's audio was crap all night.

Replay could have gone either way. could have argued he didn't have complete control before the left foot hit out of bounds, but not absolutely definitive.

Baylor guy wasn't ejected. He brushed the refs hand away and sat out a couple of plays, but came back in.

The replay looked like a clean interception with a foot inbounds. It's possible he raised the foot before gaining control, but unlikely, and his back was to the camera on the replay they kept showing.

Baylor runs to set up the pass.  They never got into a great rhythm on offense.  I still think they seemed a little disinterested in the game.  That could be because they were looking ahead or because our offense sucked the energy out of them.

Call would have stood either way. Replay couldn't tell when he actually possessed the ball.

The Baylor guy apparently did not actually get ejected. At least I think that was the latest word from Gus.

Fan attendance: WOOF We are not on KU's level of hopelessness, but you sure would have guessed it looking in the stands during the second half of a competitive game.

I'm not going to be an apologist for attendance, but I guess I kinda am. Thursday night games are thee worst for schools like K-state that are two hours away from metros where their alumni live. Not only that, but for KC alums, they're rough ridin' beat from the royals and just spent a lot of money on postseason games/celebrations. Add K-State being shitty this year and i'm sure the students would rather drink out in the parking lot vs. watching baylor score on 10 second drives.

This is my biggest gripe. Put aside the fact that there were no such excuses when we played Auburn last year. For the folks that did show up, they still left during a competitive game.

Even if you don't care what it looks like on FS1, what do you think would be going through a recruit's head when they see something like that?

All those alumni tucks sure get pissy. My argument is that a lot of students pay for those tickets out of their own pocket (which are not cheap, obviously) and sometimes being a student in college is absolutely hard at times, especially financially and the one thing they hope to fall  back on is 'Cat athletics and getting W's. Yet alumni get pissed at students for not sticking around for "close" games that are still losses and feel good about the moral victory and their hard effort on the field.

Snyder is quick to throw players under the bus but never his assistants. Sad world we live in...

Kody absolutely should have thrown it away or just stepped out of bounds, but calling the same trick play minutes after it was run the first time (when it was actually one of the better offensive play calls of the season) was dumb.

:Wha:
Just getting settled in from the game

Terrible fan attendance, especially after halftime

What are the thoughts on the replay at the end?  IT MATTERED!!!  But it looked like the first foot came down half in, half out, arguably without control.

Also what did the Baylor guy get ejected for?  The ref's audio was crap all night.

Replay could have gone either way. could have argued he didn't have complete control before the left foot hit out of bounds, but not absolutely definitive.

Baylor guy wasn't ejected. He brushed the refs hand away and sat out a couple of plays, but came back in.

Interesting.....
We got a garbled "numer......for ....bay..or....has..be...disqualified" and didn't know what was up. We assumed it was on the extra point?  I know they had one guy bitching about something during Dimel's long run.

I was really hard to tell what was going on, maybe Gus and Joel got the player numbers wrong, but number 92 seemed to be the one kicked out, but he came back in.

The official was explaining that it was his first unsportsmanlike penalty of the game and the next would result in an ejection. This is SOP since the rule was made either this or last season that two of those leads to being ejected.

You're right, to the roughly dozen people in the world who portend to care about such things but don't understand that announcing tickets sold is standard for 99.99% of athletic entities. The other .01% uses estimates. Look man, we have already announced a season sellout, because we have a season sellout. Going into this game they were only selling SRO's. They had no choice but to announce tickets sold completely ignoring that is what is always done virtually everywhere. You can get mad about it but, frankly it's tough crap, tell the KU fans that are talking about it that it was a tickets sold number and 5k-7k staying home isn't really a big deal.

Right.  If we want to call it a sellout, fine.  But let's not go boasting about our great "attendance" when it's clear that there are thousands and thousands of empty seats.
